PetSafe Smart Feed Automatic Dog & Cat Feeder - Programmable Feeding - Adjustable Portion Control - WiFi Pet Feeder - Large Capacity - Stainless Steel Bowl - App Controlled

We have only had this feeder for a few days but so far I am very happy with it (I will update this review if my decision ever changes). As several people have noted, this feeder does not support 5Ghz networks, only 2.4Ghz, so I had to setup my mesh network to only transmit in 2.4Ghz while I set this up, but everything went smooth after that. PROS: --Setup was simple. --The hopper can hold quite a bit of food, which is something I didn't even realize I would like about this. My old automatic pet feeder had a smaller hopper and could not fit the entire bag of dog food, so I always had 1/4th of a bag of dog food that I needed to store. Not with this one -- I can fit the entire bag in the hopper. --The app that you install on your smartphone is intuitive and easy to use. It uses cups as the measurement (1/8th, 1/4th, 3/8th, etc. all the way up to 4 cups) so it is easy to tell how much food your pet will be getting, unlike my old automatic feeder that just listed the servings as 1 portion, 2 portions, etc. (you had to manually measure it to figure out how much 1 portion was). --It is compatible with Alexa (but some minor tweaks needed -- see the CONS section below) CONS (all minor so far): -I didn't like the command you have to speak to use the Alexa skill. "Alexa, ask Smart Feed to feed a snack" just didn't feel natural to me. So, to offset this, I added a routine in the Alexa app so whenever I say "Alexa, feed my dog" or "Alexa, feed <dog's name>" she interprets that as "Alexa, ask Smart Feed to feed a snack". So now I can say what feels more natural to me, and Alexa understand this and passes the right command to the device. Works great and works from any Alexa device in my house (we have 8 echo devices)! -My pups don't understand that they each have their own dish. The main reason why I purchased this auto-feeder is due to the fact that it supports a splitter and two bowls. I set this up so my dogs wouldn't have to share a bowl anymore, but they still eat from the same bowl together (see the picture). Maybe this is what they prefer or maybe it will just take time to teach them... we'll see. Overall, really pleased with this purchase so far and would recommend this to others.

Seriously, where has this machine been all my life? We have one cat. It's important to note that, because I'm not sure how this would work with multiple cats unless you free feed. But if you free feed, you have no need for an automatic feeder. I have one vet fat, very needy cat. I feed him diet food. He wakes me up at 5 am meowing at my bedroom door. He follows me all over my home meowing. He wakes my toddler up meowing through her bedroom door. This machine has been AWESOME. I can now feed him 1/8 cup 5-6 times a day (and middle of the night). He no longer begs for food. It's accurate on the amount of food it drops. I measured it. It has a smart phone app that alerts me when he's been fed or allows me to manually release food. It will be perfect when we go on vacation. He stresses out boarding anywhere, so this will allow me to leave him at home when we go on vacation. It holds a ton of food. It lets you know when it needs refilling. Only SEMI-con I can find: it's loud. It comes with a stainless steel bowl that's super loud when it releases food into it. He can hear it from anywhere in the house, which is a good thing. He flies down the hall to go eat. BUT I have the feeder in a room next to my toddler's room, and I can hear it over her white noise. And since I have it set to release food at 2 am, I was worried it would wake her. Luckily, she's a heavy sleeper and it doesn't, but it's something to keep in mind. Seriously, buy this. It's reliable, easy to set up and monitor, and it has absolutely saved our sanity and gave me an option for letting our cat stay home during vacation.

I feed my two cats wet food primarily but use this to schedule a snack in the early morning so they don’t wake me for breakfast before my alarm. I also use it to feed them one of their two daily meals when I’m out of town, since the pet sitter comes once a day to play and feed the other meal. It’s easy to use, has lasted over a year now, and works as advertised. My only problem with it is one of my cats is seemingly more intelligent than the other (orange) and has learned to press the button on the top to eat whenever she likes. I taped a cover over the button (which she tears off occasionally), and she figured out how to reach her paw into the food chute and pull food out that way. She taught the orange as well, so now they’re both a little pudgy. I’m going to keep it because it’s so convenient for my particular use cases, but if I find something that’s more burglar-proof I may replace it. It’s also a little noisy when the food comes out into the metal bowl, may scare anxious pets - can be solved using a different bowl.

Hands down the best smart pet feeder. Coming from a Wopet smart feeder, I have experienced no dropped connections or jams/errors. My cat is always fed on time, and the portion control is best in class when compared to the Wopet. I love the feeding notifications that the app provides, as well the simplicity it is to set up a feeding schedule. Although this is slightly more expensive when compared to something like the Wopet, the quality of the feeder is really good and has been reliable.

So many other sophisticated options that work significantly better at half the price. App is antquated and clunky and did not connect. Had to continually reset. Sent back and waiting for refund.

Realmente vale la pena y no me arrepiento de nada!!! Puedes programar las porciones y los horarios algo que me ayudo mucho cuando tenia que salir de casa por varios días, realmente lo recomiendo!!!

I bought this cat feeder a year and a half ago and I’m glad I waited until now to review it. It worked well for the first year. The last few months, the power fluctuated on and off. I thought it might be the cord, so I switched it with another cord I had. This was not the case. I think it died very expensive for a feeder that lasts only one year.
