Current USA Satellite Freshwater LED Plus Light for Aquarium, 36 to 48-Inch

This is my first LED light set for an aquarium. What, a difference! LEDs make fish and plants look awesome and the affects such as cloud cover, lightning storms and several different colors are awesome! I bought a ramp timer with this set so they gradually dim off and gradually get brighter in the morning so the instant on/off of the lights don't freak out the fish. This LED light set is a must. I'll only have LEDs for aquariums from now on.I bought this LED light bar in January 2015 and today, December 2, 2018, it started freaking out. Flashing. Its dead after 3 years 11 months. Has anyone else had this light longer? I liked the light bar with its effects and variety of colors. Feel like an LED light bar should last way longer. Not sure if I should invest in another LED bar with another brand. What is the warranty on this light?Dec 4th... I took a look at the LED bar and thought there was no way for something to be wrong with the LEDs because the thing is well built. Thought it might have been the ac/dc adapter so I took a picture of the light bar, adapter and ramp timer together to send to Current USA Customer Service with hope to diagnose what it could be and maybe just have to purchase another ac/dc adapter. With everything plugged in to include the ramp timer, the lights and ramp timer flashed every 10 seconds or so. Unplugged only the light bar from the ramp timer and the ramp timer display would be fine. Took out the ramp timer and plugged the lights directly into the power cord and for some reason, the lights did not flash like they did the other night. They worked fine! Plugged in the ramp timer between the power supply and lights and BAM! everything was fine. Weird but I am so relieved because this Current USA LED bar is fricken awesome and now I dont have to spend more money to buy another one. I'm definitely giving this product all five stars! Well worth it and whatever was wrong with mine, not only was it corrected (maybe by unplugging it for a while and it reset), but I am confident it couldn't have been the expensive LED bar because as I mentioned before, this product is well made! This light has made an AMAZING difference for my aquarium! I've had a fluorescent tube light over my aquarium for so many years, and always struggled with trying to get my aquatic plants to grow, even with the special "plant tubes." But, I'm telling you, the REMARKABLE change that I saw after trying this lamp is truly a wonder...the plants really came alive and sprung to life with this light! I was seeing a spring of new growth within that first week itself, and the plants have continued to just grow to really fill up the tank! Even the fish look amazing...this light really brings out their true colors! The unique thing about this light is the additional Red/Green/Blue lighting combinations that is possible with this led fixture since plants really need the red color light for growth, and the blue really brings out the colors. I'm really happy with this purchase and it has made an AMAZING, REMARKABLE difference in my aquarium...it truly never looked any better!Another thing, I got the 36 inch fixture for my tank which only measures 30 inches in length since it gives full light coverage across the top, though it does hang a bit off of the sides. The smaller size fixture would have stopped short of the edges, and I wanted to get as much light as I could get into the tank. So, you can use your judgement about the form vs. function.

Lets face it, setting up a nice aquarium is not cheap! At the end, it is all about how nice your aquarium will look. I don't know if this light will do any good for the fish and plants but it definitely make the tank look much better! It is light (not heavy) and has a low profiles. It is very bright and the color is awesome. Yes it is on the "expensive" side but in my opinion, well worth the money.Two reasons for a 4 instead of 5 starts:1. No way to turn on the light without the remote control. If you loose or misplace the remote....the light is done!2. There is an infared sensor to receive signal from the remote. It is attached to a long cable and I hate cables...have to find way to make it less conspicuous. Not sure why they did not built the sensor directly into the light unit itself!Overall, yes I do recommend this light for your aquarium.

This fixture has many different light spectrums to choose from and it can be adjusted to very dim to sun light brite. The fixture doesn't generate much heat and it's very lite. No difference noticed in my electric bill. I also bought the bracket for a neat and clean look. The remote only works if your 3 feet away from the censor. Awesome product.

This is a very weak light for the price. The lighting adjustments are not worth it. As a supplemental light next to a Finnex Planted+, it does ok, but alone it would only grow the lowest light plants at mid level or floating. I should have paid more attention. I noticed later that the review images I found online often show 2-3 of these things on a tank. Again, a single Finnex Ray2, or 2 Planted+ would be cheaper in the long run and WAY more effective. I have both of those lights on another tank to compare. The freshwater satellite led plus is more like a finnex stingray in output, except its nearly twice the price and all you're paying for are the nearly useless settings. If you want more than java moss and floating hornwort, get a different light. Instead of returning, I will likely give it to some one else who as said, is only growing floating hornwort. I'm sure they'll love it.

I purchased the 36-48" (4007) for my 40 gallon breeder 36" wide tank. It physically covers the entire width of the tank and the adjustable legs sit perfectly on the plastic rim of the tank.

Excellent unit - great color presets, overall best LED unit we have had -also great price and fast shipping. For a 32 year old turtle - who loves the different lighting effects!

Great value, I do not use all of the settings. However,they do work as advertised. From my point of view, the lighting works as advertised by the manufacturer. :-)
