Near the bullseye!
From, 'The Rocket,'"Perhaps my sons-" said Bodoni."No, nor their sons!" the old man shouted. "It's the rich who have dreams and rockets!"When I was younger I admired Bradbury, but older I can understand or comprehend his thoughts and philosophies more.Bradbury had an uncanny sense of reality to his stories. When I reread that conversation between Bodoni and Bramante I immediately thought of Jeff Bezos and Blue Origin and Richard Branson and his Virgin Galactic. These men have the means and God speed. But I have Ray Bradbury!Boston Dynamic's robotic dog would have put a smile on a the old prophet 's face.I don't agree on some of Bradbury 's philosophies, but I do agree he had an uncanny ability to write the future and make us wonder or dread it.

The best short stories from the master...
I've been a Bradbury fan since I discovered him in college [MA '68]. Thought I had read everything he wrote at least twice, and "I Sing The Body Electric" at least half a dozen times. But it seems I missed " R is for Rocket". As it turns out, I've read half the short stories in "Bradbury Classic Stories 1 " in other compilations. These stories were written from 1946 into the early '50s, but are great fun and relevent in 2014. One story about information and entertainment overload in the 2nd section of the book is stunning in it's precience. A good intro to Bradbury or a good read for your collection!

Literary quality you'd expect (in an unimpressive print edition)
Bradbury was a genius with his short stories and this print edition is a great way to get accustomed to his style. That said, this edition does not do the writer justice. The glossy cover seems like it would be better fit on a mass-produced mystery novel instead of such an excellent collection of stories.Recommended for the content, not for the presentation.

GREAT Complilation
I absolutely love this book. It's filled with some of the best stories from Bradbury's other works. Some of my favorite stories include:The MurdererThe Rocket ManA Sound of ThunderI give this book as a gift at least once a year to someone I know who's never read him. Have created many RB fans this way.
