Works great hot or cold. I routinely make stew or soup and I use these to store serving-sized portions in the refrigerator or freezer. I'm not sure how hot they can go, but they stand up just fine to a few minutes worth of reheating in the microwave.

Love the size. Perfect for freezer storage. Thick enough to put soup in, and it does not collapse. The quality is great, and it is leakproof.

We bought a bunch of these years ago. They worked great. Over time, we accumulated a number of other brands of similar containers, that "weren't quite the same" (either size or shape). Invariably I would be trying to put away some leftovers from dinner and I would have one brands bottom, and a different brand top. Frustration would ensue. Stacking them for storage was also always an issue where it worked, but not quite as it should.My mom had a bunch of Tupperware and other brands of reusable lidded containers when I was growing up. They worked great and did last a lot longer than these, but I think they cost 5-6 times more and if you damaged or lost part of one, you felt obligated to keep the other part "just in case", because they cost so much. I think that mindset carried forward to these, and my wife and I were always resistant to throwing them away.When I looked at the price on these, I realized I was being foolish. I took all the old ones and put them in a bag in the garage (in case my plan wasn't as smart as I thought), and replaced them with square and rectangle shaped Gladware containers. Two styles, one brand, DO NOT keep the "free" ones that come from the store going forward. When these get old remember to replace them and don't keep them once they start to get flimsy. Now that I've tested the plan, and confirmed that I'm brilliant, it's time to toss the bag of old ones.Repeat after me: DO NOT KEEP THE FREE ONES! REPLACE THESE WHEN THEY GET OLD AND WORN!

Used Glad containers many times, got these and shared with daughter, but for some reason we both had problems with the lids. The lids would not go on correctly like they should. Lids seem to not fit, to small left a crinkled area in lid. Still have them but can’t use them properly. Just a warming before you buy.

We hade quite a collection of these, different shapes and capacity. However our sons took many of them when they went off to college.I have not been able to find these (specifically the Glad brand) in stores anymore.They are sturdy, keep contents sealed well and prevent leakage or odor contamination with other items in the refrigerator.We were very pleased with them in the past (and hated the dollar store product). I was very pleased to find these online and bought several to replace the 'missing' ones.
