ADT DIY LifeShield 15-Piece Easy, Smart Home Security System - Optional 24/7 Monitoring - Smart Camera - No Contract - Wi-Fi Enabled - Alexa Compatible

I thought I was purchasing a system that does not require a monitoring plan! I want to control my own secures! How can I return this stuff? It has not been opened.

I purchased the kit shown as it appeared to be the best value. After receiving the kit, I learned the window alarmswould not work with my casement windows. Also, glass breakage sensors would be preferable for my glass patio doors to the door sensors that came with the kit. In addition, the sensors and keypad are bright white, but the power cord is black- ugly and difficult to conceal. The app does not answer all my questions and the shopping link does not work. My bad for not doing better research. That said, the motion detector works fine and the system notifies you of activity.

The system looks good quality but it doesn’t work anywhere but in the US and if your house is inside the service area of one of the cellular carrier this device support.If you are installing this system outside the US it won’t work. First you have to create an account in their site in order to activate the device and to use the App, but when it asks for your address it has to be an USA valid address if not it won’t let you finish creating the account. Now lets say you live outside the US and manage to create an account and activate the system and you want to self monitor your system ( means that you don’t want to pay monthly fees or a contract ) Cellular support won’t work without monthly fee so that leaves internet and land line but when I tested it didn’t call me.So in short this system only works with internet if you want to self monitor and if you want more ways to get notified you need to pay.I didn’t have the chance to test the sensors and see how long the batteries last and how far they can be installed from the base but the devices seems to be well made (not for outdoors) .Motion sensor don't have instant trigger option it has 30 or 45 seconds delay as minimum.

The kit came with DirecTV badging on the outside of the box, and ADT badging inside. This in no way affected the function of the product. Rather, it would not have, had the employee who rebadged the inside of the box remmbered to put all the pieces back. The S30 Base was missing the wifi antenna. For those unaware, if you power up a wifi radio without the antenna or a 'null' cap, it can fry the radio. Luckily I had a few spares.The system installed easily and the app is easy to navigate. The only downsides I've noticed were the supplied stick pads for the motion detectors, when installed in the corner of room configuration, don't seem to hold. I upgraded to some 3M from a local store. The instructions state that all the sensors should be within 30ft of the base. I have my sensors spread throughout 2000 sq. Ft. and they operate flawlessly for my tests.The indoor camera has a wps button, and 2.4ghz wifi radio, but requires Ethernet for initial setup. I supplied the wifi credentials through: the supplied Asus Memopad, my cellphone app, and the online portal, but could not get the camera to connect to my 2.4ghz network. It works flawlessly with a hardline and has good quality and motion detection.

the note pad it came with as trouble connecting to wifi, and the battery goes dead in less than 1 minute after unplugging it

We use it for our small business. Very easy to arm and disarm. We didn’t need technical support

I've had this system for two years and find it is annoying. Cellular reception is poor regardless of where I place the base unit in my house. I installed the external cellular antenna but it makes no improvement which makes me wonder if the external antenna connector is functional. The video camera switches back and forth multiple times between color and b&w as evening darkness approaches. When it switches it triggers a motion-detect notification. When I return after a armed-away weekend I find a dozen false motion notifications.

It was a satisfactory system until the merger and software changes on 01-06-2019. Now it's a piece of junk and the customer service is lacking in intelligence.
