They are incredibly well made, and they'll last for generations. This is one of the easiest ones out there (perhaps THE easiest). I bought it for my 7-year-old neice, and it seemed pretty well suited to her. She still hadn't figured it out when we left. It only took her father about 4 minutes. I would buy this as a first tavern puzzle for anyone from about 7 to 14. After that, I'd go ahead and jump to something a little trickier, even as a first puzzle. The goal of the puzzle is to remove the heart.After the Iron Heart, I think the Old Shackles puzzle is probably next. The Old Shackles puzzle would be a good first tavern puzzle for anyone from about 9 through adult.If you're already familiar with the tavern puzzles, the only weird thing about this Iron Heart Puzzle is that it came in a box instead of the cloth bag my other tavern puzzles came in. I don't know if they're just phasing out the bags or if it's retailer specific.
