Good buy for the price
I am a geologist & compare this to a premium Anchor Optical Company 10X Hastings Triplet some 50 yrs old, and still working. Both all metal construction. The Anchor is 10X, lens 15mm diamter, weight 17 g. This Danoplus is 15X, lens diameter 20.5 mm, weight 37 g. The Anchor is sharp edge to edge. The Danopolis is not. But its sharp center area is about the same size as the Anchor. Neither has chromatic aberation. A premium 10X Hastings Triplet costs about $45. This heavier, higher power lens will perform equally for about $14. I would expect the 10X version would under-perform a 10X premium lens. Buy the 15X for equivalent performance. This will stay on my desk and the old Anchor will be in my backpack.

Excellent value
Excellent value and clarity. The lens is glass and super clear. Great 2nd loop for the bench drawer or travelling. Comes with lanyard, case and cleaning cloth. The reason for 4 stars is that opening and closing is stiff and takes 2 hands. Maybe it will loosen with use or can be loosened with the screws, just received so haven't tried. For this price the clarity can not be beat. I'm very happy with vision clarity and will be purchasing another loop for my daughter for her robotics use.

A very good value at this price
I have a Bausch & Lomb 20X loupe but have been frustrated by its tiny size. Its lens is about 1/4" wide and the working distance to the object observed is very small, making it difficult to illuminate and view the object. On the other hand, this lens is about 3/4" wide and there is a much greater working distance. This makes it much easier to illuminate and observe the object. Yes, there is distortion on the outer edge of the image, but the center of the field is sharp. Not quite as sharp as the Bosch & Lombe loupe, but great for quick use in the field. (I use it for studying very tiny botanical specimens.) I can get a better look with a microscope when I return to the lab.

great to use with my iPhone for photography
I purchased this product to use when I hike, or around the backyard, to examine the many tiny wonders. I've found that I can use it with my iPhone to take some impressive pictures.

Seems to be great.
A loupe takes a bit of getting used to, I suppose, but seems to work well. I only gave 2 stars on "sheerness" because I haven't the faintest idea what that means. The loupe comes with a protective cover or frame, which doubles as a handle, which makes it easier to hold on to. Also included is a neck lanyard, which is very convenient as well. The whole package comes with a clamshell-style "jewelry" type case. I use it, because it's there. If there were no case, I wouldn't have noticed the lack. The whole thing didn't cost very much, but they could have left out the case and dropped the price a few bucks, I'm sure. If I lost this loupe, I would definitely order a replacement.

Exactly as advertised
It is a strong magnifier, but it takes a lot of light. You have to use it near a bright light source. The shadow of your hand/arm will render it nearly useless. Now I know why so many loupes have an LED light as part of the appliance. I am glad that I own it. I bought it to breach my free shipping threshold, but I do use magnifiers to work on fountain pens, electronics and to read the nomenclature on small batteries; so this fits my tool box just fine. The field of view is small.

This should work
I bought this loupe to compliment the knife sharpening equipment and it definitely looks up to the task.Since I know nothing of jewelers’ loupes my personal opinion on this model may not be worth much but from here it appears to be a good purchase and the it should be up to the task.

Mixed bag product
I purchased the 15x loupe. Its metal and glass and feels pretty solid and reasonably built. You'll definitely want a decent light using it--the focal point is very close to the lens so an overhead lamp won't do the trick. There is no chromatic aberration, which is great.Biggest downside is a fair degree of pincushion distortion (the magnification increases towards the edges, causing distortion past a certain distance from the center).I purchased this loupe for use in inspecting knife edges when sharpening, so this + a small LED light + a helping hands (soldering tool) = good enough for my needs.

Excellent
Great price, and excellent quality. I bought another brand a while back, and have always had trouble with it. This is top notch in comparison, and I would highly recommend it.
