TimelyGeometric Designer Template - 49T

I have been using Timely templates for 40 years. They make good stuff. My only complaint here is that the seller, VirVentures, lists two different dimensions for the T-49: one in the product description; another in the product information. The larger dimensions are correct. I wanted this template to fit in a journal pocket. Since I saw the wrong dimensions, this one won’t fit. I’ll use the T-49 at my desk and get the T-41 for my journal.

This product is exactly as pictured — transparent pale green, so you can easily see what's underneath it. It's very thin and flexible but still seems sturdy. There is a great range of shapes and sizes included, and I didn't realize from the picture but the short sides are not just indented, but have 5 different sizes of curly brackets (like { in different sizes). It is about 8 inches long and 4 3/4 inches wide. Near the two biggest circles, there is also a tiny cow/pig shape that was not pictured — not sure how much use I'll get of that one, but a pleasant little surprise!

Not a bad template all things considered, but it ended up cracking along the center line of the second row of circles (11/16" - 1-1/2"). Fairly flimsy plastic because I am very careful with my drafting tools. If I had to do it over I would get a slightly smaller, thicker template but this one continues to serve me well - cracked or not.

I work as a Survey Crew Chief, and use Timely Templates in my field book. Unfortunately, they are out of the smaller ones I usually buy, so i got these instead. They are literally the size of the book. Impossible to use for my purposes.

I can't freehand bracket shapes to save my life and I use them in school notes. Only thing I don't really like is this template is made of thinner plastic than my Staedler and Berol templates. And it would have been nice if one side had centimeters instead of inches but not a huge deal.

I am a professional engineering designer who has been using CAD since 1983, but prior to that I used to do drafting manually. I still have a need to do some manual drafting on some old plans or do some preliminary quick layouts. Timely templates are perfect for such tasks and would be perfect for anyone that is doing manual drafting. Their flexible material makes them extremely resilient to breaking or cracking. I have owned some Timely templates since 1978, and they are still as good as new after 30 years of use. Timely templates are pure pleasure to work with. I recomend these templates for professionals, hobbyists, and students.

A very nice template for those old-school draftsmen who still like to draw a perfect circle, hexagon, triangle or square without a drafting table. I love the flexible plastic material construction which will prolong the life of the template from cracking. Keep that cutout for the "different kind of animal" which I use in my journal to indicate that I took my dog on a walk. You have to place the tail and ears on that cutout but it is certainly nice feature for a nerdy engineer like myself.

Item showed up broken on one side. Somewhat flimsy, and some of the stencils are unusable.
