There are auxiliary outputs so it is possible to connect this to active speakers.

Can I plug in my decks into this?

The CDJ has two analog inputs using phono sockets at the rear which can be switched to either line or phono and switches on the top to select these inputs instead of the CD decks. So yes if you can connect phono leads to your decks.

Can I connect a record player to this set up and how would I change between channels?

You can connect a turntable to this system. There's a button on the unit that you flick over from CD to phono on each deck, you can also play music from USB and Bluetooth devices. Hope this helps

Do ineed to purchase speakers to listen to cds ?

You can listen to cd’s without speakers by using headphones but to mix or fade tracks properly you will need speakers connected. As it is an Amplified mixer the speakers should connect directly to the unit!
