I needed to get something through a metal detector for the times that I need to stay late because my daughter and I car pool. I love to cross stitch, and scissors are not allowed. It's stylish and functional at the same time! If you need to travel and you're an avid stitcher, get this product. Also, get from this vendor as they can do overnight without paying extra!!

Handy & makes cutting your thread quicker

My wife began sewing as a child, made Raggedy Anne dolls for several years to sell, made all four of our son's clothes several times, and has been a quilter for the last 40 years of our 65 year marriage! A friend of hers had one of these around her neck when she came by for a visit. The wife noticed it, and the rest is history.I bought one for her, and she uses it all the time. It's the handiest gadget you ever saw for cutting thread. Each one of those 15 little square notches around the perimeter of it has a cutting edge in it. (I think it has one of those little round blades from a rolling cutter inside of it.) It hangs on a small ribbon around her neck when she sews - and that's about 8 - 10 hours every day - and it's so easy to just grab it to clip a thread, than searching for her little scissors, plus it's a lot safer to hang around her neck than those sharp-pointed little scissors, too. It's handier than a pocket on a shirt! We've bought several of these for her to give away to friends who sew. And they all love it! All the ladies in her sewing group have them, and when we travel in our truck, she always has some hand-sewing project with her, and uses it all the time.We have a hard time locating them in Joanne's Fabric, or at quilting stores, but you can always find them on Amazon! The wife recommends them - highly. You'll be happy when you have one to use for clipping threads!

I loom knit, and have a project in pretty much every room of the house. Unfortunately, I also have two children and an artist husband, so my scissors frequently grow legs and run away.Well, no more!Note that this comes without a chain of any sort, but no worries - I just used a piece of Sugar and Cream yarn and cut it with my new pendant. Bam! This thing is wonderful. I wouldn't recommend it for anything thicker than worsted weight yarn, I mean you could, but you may have to "saw" a little bit.Also, if you've sensitive skin, be sure to take it off in the shower or while you sleep - I fell asleep with it on and as it's summer, I woke up with a bit of a rash on my chest where the pendant lay. The blades are far enough in there that little fingers can't cut themselves on it either.Overall, exactly what I wanted and works beautifully!

The best thing to use on an airplane instead of scissors. Makes thread cutting easy especially if you needlepoint

This is nicely made. It cuts thread well although it does not give as clean a cut as you would get with sharp embroidery scissors. I think it is perfect for what it does, and it looks nice too.

This works very well. Great to take on a plane if you're needing to cut yarn and you couldn't bring scissors on board
