This dude came out of nowhere! I heard of him through J. Cole ( he's part of the Dreamville crew) & I decided to give this a shot. I was very impressed cozz Cozz can rhyme & the beats are on par. He's from the west coast but he has a different sound & that's why I liked it. I don't listen to much west coast hip hop because east coast tends to be more grimey & authentic. I think Cozz has a bright future.

A rapper signed under J cole's dreamville label honestly cozz can still use his mentorship, Bas the other rapper on cole's label is better flow and voice wise.it doesn't make this album bad it has that nice jazzy hip hop vibe and cozz holds his own on the mic but start with Bas' s too high to riot album

Cozz & Effect is a good first effort from the west coast MC. Lyrically skilled with superb beat selection in the vein of fellow Dreamville artist Bas, Quarter Water Raised Me Vol. 2. Cozz proves that he is on his way to being a force in hip-hop, by incorporating more personal content into his lyrics in the same way as his mentor and Dreamville honcho J Cole will only accelerate that process.
