I bought them as a way of future proofing all my devices in the event that Google Fiber comes to town (fingers crossed!). I read somewhere that, in order for CAT6 cables to be effective for gigabit, you need to replace all CAT5/CAT 5e with CAT6 and your modem must be 802.11ac compatible. Otherwise, your home internet is only as fast as your slowest cable. Good to know. These C2G cables are inexpensive, they don't feel cheap and they snap on sturdily to my ethernet ports and wired home systems. I have Time Warner, and my biggest fear is having terrible, intermittent speeds. Hasn't happened yet, so who knows - maybe the cables are partly responsible! Regardless, I'd pick these up if you're in the market for cheap cables.

I bought a 100 footer and a few 10 footers to set up a network connection in a room that i just remodled. I chose CAT6 because the 100 footer is running through the walls and attic and some other very tight spots that I will most likely not have access to again any time soon. I wanted the higher transfer speed and to future proof the connection for at least a while. Some other reviewers stated that they did not get authentic C2G cables but mine definitely were. The logo is all over them and they look to be very high quality. NEVER buy cables at the store. I got all of these cables for a fraction of what I would have paid for the 100 footer alone at the store. I have them all installed and they work great. If you get the cables I got, you will be very pleased.

Great cables that vastly increased internet speeds on my home network. I used one between the modem and Apple's new Airport Extreme router to get very fast speeds. When I plugged this cable in, I noticed a sizable difference over Cat5e. Cables are sturdy and everything was as advertised. Would recommend.
