I have naturally curly (big curls), very fine hair and have tried a number of straighteners over the years with mixed results. This product is far the best.One from Og**vie, it smelled so bad I could hardly stand it and every time it got wet for 2 weeks, the smell would come back (like sulfur or a home perm smell). It was straight but left my hair dull and damaged.Tried another two-part Korean product that was supposed to not damage hair, however, I followed directions exactly and it barely had any straightening effect, and caused significant damage (slightly lightened and felt like straw) and had the same bad smell (like a home perm) that lasted WEEKS.This product is a single product (no mixing), there are clear instructions and you need a blow dryer and flat iron. I followed directions exactly and to my amazement, my hair is stick straight with NO DAMAGE and NO SMELL. (Straighter than I expected actually, I might try it next time with just the blow dryer - as I just want to turn my curls down a few notches). My hair still has a natural shine and doesn’t look processed at all, and there is no smell at all. Not sure how they did this, but it’s pretty great. It is supposed to last 20 shampoos, but it’s been 2 weeks so far and it is still very straight. Might just use conditioner some days to make it last longer.

Ok, first i’ll Say that it did what it was supposed to. My extremely curly frizzy hair was relaxed/straightened and is extremely easy to dry. I’m only 3 days in so I have no idea how long it’ll last. The downside is that the negatives out way the one good. 1. It lightened my hair and by lightened I mean stripped a lot of color out. It was brown and now it’s 2 shades lighter & its orange. I haven’t colored my hair in a long time so it didn’t strip out new dye. I’m going to have to color my hair it looks so bad. 2. It burnt my scalp. Not the blow dryer, not the straightening iron but the same chemicals that bleached my hair, burnt my scalp and it is now flaking off in big pieces. 3. My hair after drying, whether I use a straightener or not has this waxy sticky feel to it. You can’t run your fingers through it because it sticks together and tangles easy. & 4. The smell. Straight out of the bottle, it’s fine. After applying it fine. During activation not great. After rinsing and drying, gross. 2nd day, even worse, 3rd day horrible. After washing it and while it’s wet, I completely agree with other reviews that it has underlying tones of death. It honestly smells like that nasty dead thing your dog finds and rolls in. Nobody around me smells it but it’s on my head and it’s all I can smell. Nothing is masking it. I thought others were exaggerating but NOPE. Totally disappointed the after/side effects outweigh the actual straightening After spending so many hours doing it. I also have a feeling that after this stuff wears off and out of my hair cuticle that my hair is going to be in worse/rough shape ☹️

I’ve been using Make It Straight for a few years now and last year I couldn’t find it anywhere so I started ordering from Amazon. It takes a little longer than using other straightening creams because you have to blow it straight then wait 15 mins then use your straightening iron. But it works great. My hair is very dry and it doesn’t damage it.

Yes, this product absolutely works. My hair never looked and felt better. BUT is stripped the color from my hair, which honestly wasn’t a total deal breaker considering how straight my hair was. My hair was soft and incredibly easy to blow dry, and it looked amazing in the Florida humidity. I could’ve just touched-up my color and been good to go. If it wasn’t for the smell. Like other straightening treatments, it smells and smokes when flat ironing into your hair, etc. But that’s not the smell I’m talking about. For a good 1.5mo post treatment my hair smelled like a garbage dump when wet. I would gag while washing in the shower, but after drying the smell would go away. Once after showering I went out to the garage to talk to my husband and flies started swarming all around my head! I definitely won’t be using this product again.
