Incredibly good - for many tastes too
I'm not an old Take That fan. Being in my 50s my boy band was the Beatles! That just means I've seen a lot of rock-pop over the years and can appreciate a top act when I see one. This concert is just great theatre by anyone's standards.Their material is also maturing and they are recreating themselves in an enduring way. They are doing 'professional naturally sexy and talented individual men' rather than 'boys' now. Gone (almost) are the old cutesy gestures that to my mind look a bit odd on guys of this age (unless you are trying to recreate nostalgia for old fans). I have heard 'Could it be magic' in many incarnations but this version is the ultimate version. This is not only because of the Cirque de Soleil type treatment visually but because it is sung with such feeling (which I dont think this group has even put into it before). So often when performers go for the big show look they do it with plastered theatrical smiles. What Take That offers instead is the poignant and powerful emotionality put into this and all numbers and I see this ultimately as their big strength. Should they get beyond their dancing days this is what should give them longevity as performers. I like the way they are using the group more individually rather than sticking to the boy band formula. There is a lot of individual talent among them and it shows them more as talented in their own individual right beyond any manufacturing.I have even now bought the CD this concert showcases - and they sing even better in the show. 'I'd wait for life' is a new favorite after the show -such feeling!I can't say I did relate to the pole dancing thing as another reviewer. These guys are naturally sexy and dont need this contrived stuff. They also move their largely female audiences with their ability to hit and convey deep and personal emotion. This is beyond cheap sex and I'm not sure whether this is really their fan's fantasy - and I could do without the fire item-I feel nervous about the potential. However these are small quibbles. There must be a comment on the filming too. This should be compulsory viewing for those shooting concerts for DVD. There is a lot of variety with shots chosen that pick the moods and emotional moments. The colour, lighting, staging and set design etc are also truly state of the art: interesting and magic (with one intriguing surrealist coordinating of the real with a projection -you'll have to see it- and the wonderful show-stopping 'Shine' number. What more can I say than a loud applause and if you havent been into this lot before they are well worth the journey.

Somewhat taken aback
Look I was never into these people first time around. My wife would go off to their concerts and I'd just not get it. Cheesy hip gyrating c**p - at best. And lets face it - Robbie was the talent wasn't he - just look at Knebworth - isn't that just streets ahead. And then I saw this - having again bought it for my wife. Its really good - but bits of it are a revelation. These guys seems so much more comfortable with themselves. They don't seem like the shadow of RW is over them any more. If the "Ultimate Tour" hologram of Robbie had been repeated it would almost have felt like an intrusion - because this is a "Beautiful World" performance.I love the fact that they do something slightly different with almost everything. Other people have commented on the upbeat tone of "Back for Good" rather than the nauseating cigarette lighter Angels rip off we've seen before. The "slow" version of "Could it be Magic" is breath-taking. Howard is a revelation - his vocals get better and better and unlike Gary Barlow his live voice is better than the studio version - listen to Beautiful World if you don't agree. Even a visibly nervous Jason and "Wooden Boat" suprises - it's just great. So I sign off this review still rather embarassed that I thought this was so great. But forget the cheese of before. This ain't the same. Buy it.

Excellent package - Disc 2 as good as Disc 1
Ok, let's say it loud and clear: watching them live is WAAAAY better than watching a DVD in your living room, but this DVD is the closest you will ever get to that emotion. And there is a plus: disc 2 in which you can find the concert, again (and if you watch carefully you will see that there are some different angle shots from the ones on disc 1), with commentary by the band; a photogallery and a documentary called "the journey", which is highly enjoyable. About disc 1 all I can tell you is one thing: I watched the gig in Milan(I live in southern Italy) and brought a friend along with me. She is not a fan and knew very little about them but she went CRAZY and danced and enjoyed herself all night. This means that every open minded pop music lover can enjoy this DVD!!! For those interested the audio this time is much better than the one on "The Ultimate Tour". One last note: I envy anyone who watched them in Manchester, because they got the guys singing "Mancunian Way" which is one of the best tracks on the "Beautiful World" album.

Great Band, Music and Concert on this Blu-Ray Dvd, but POLYDOR & UNIVERSAL are MISLEADING us...
Because of my 'Rock 'n' Roll and Beatles timezone' age, I never took notice of Take That, until they came up with 'Back For Good'. Then I thought 'not bad at all for a boy band...'On their latest cd en live dvd 'Beautiful World', there are quite a few more of these high quality songs. So I bought this dvd for my wife (and for myself, but don't tell her...) with Xmas.I'm not afraid to say now, that Take That is a top 'boy' band and they excel in this very good concert with mainly great music. It's also filmed in the way a concert should be.The picture of this Blu-ray dvd is very good and the 5.1 Dolby Digital sound is also good, so we both enjoyed watching and listening to it very much, but the sound good have been better...POLYDOR & UNIVERSAL are MISLEADING us, by stating that the soundtrack is also in: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, but that is'nt so!There are 3 Audio choises: PCM stereo, PCM 5.1 and Dolby Digital 5.1, so what happened to 'DTS-HD' Polydor & Universal???

Take That Beautiful World Live DVD
If not for Barry Manilow I would have never heard of the boy band Take That. You ask why? I am a big fan of Barry's. In the early 90's Take That sang an up tempo version of Barry's song Could It Be Magic. Anyway, thank GOD for YouTube!! I watched a bunch of YouTube videos of Take That & their history, etc. Absolutely fell in LOVE with their music & each of their personalities. It's quite disappointing they did not make it in the US. :(Although, Robbie Williams being 1 of the original 5 of Take That left the band, I still found this Beautiful World Live DVD thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end!!!!!!! The visuals are outstanding!! The BEST money I have ever spent!!!! I'd give a TEN star if it were possible!! If anyone has doubts about purchasing this DVD...just take the plunge!!! You will NOT be disappointed!! ENJOY!!!!*The unseen EXTRAS are great too!! The boys (men) talk about how the concert came to fruition. They are also explaining the ideas behind each performance. Very interesting how they are critiquing themselves & each other. It's quite sweet how they show their gratitude towards their fans.*Review by Tom Chu's wife.

Now this is a show!
Fantastic quality dvd of music group Take That. I am just starting to learn the history of this former British boyband that reformed in 2005. Unfortunatley only the song Back For Good was released in North America. I had no idea how good they were until checking out what they had done lately in late 2012. The quality of the music amazes me (new and old) and the show they put on is out of this world. So much creativity and hard work put into this show by the lads, the dancers and the musicians. The only problem is that you will immediately want to order any other of their dvd's that you are missing.

Espectacular
Siguieron temas como "Reach Out" "Beautiful World" "Hold On" "Shine" "Rule the world". Durante casi las 2 horas de concierto repasan temas emblemáticos como: "Back for Good" "Relight My Fire" "Pray" "Never Forget", etc.La puesta en escena es espectacular. Acompañados de bailarines, juegan con las imágenes y recursos audiovisuales, que en un escenario cambiante demuestran que el espectáculo está garantizado.
