Grill Light for Big Green Egg (R)

If you have the newer BGE hinge that doesn't allow the top to open fully and blocks the light, this is a solution. This light mounts to the band under the handle , so that it is out of the way and points directly at the grill grate. I would buy it again. A couple of improvements:make it greenHave an LED on the opposite side so that you can know whether it is on. It is easy to leave on.

Super bright, makes all the difference in the world.For those of you who enjoy the long cooks (brisket, pork butt, etc.) and have to throw the meat on late at night or early in the morning, this light is for you. The bracket fits my large BGE perfectly, and the light itself actually slides in an out of the bracket, so you can use it for other things like finding your lighter, or examining you bag of coals for the every elusive medium sized chunks. It also has a magnet, which is quite handy.

The light is easy to attach, bright, and focuses well on the cooking grid. The only problem I have with it is in conjunction with the Nest tables. I had to bend the housing quite a bit to get it to clear the tables (while both up and down). I'm sure this wouldn't be a problem if I had the longer handle, but since I have the short handle, and a medium, it sits on the side. I do like that it can be removed and taken inside... and that it is magnetic so it sticks right on the fridge.

Big Green Egg grill light a value? No, but you need one. A gift for my son-in-law with a new Big Green Egg. I kinda thought this was Big Green Egg branded, but it's not. Your paying $29 + $4 shipping to but a bracket made for the Big Green Egg with the LED light attached you can buy at Harbor Freight for $5 bucks On promotions they give them away. No kidding. Go to there website and you will see. Mind you the light does the trick, and it's good to have a bracket designed to fit the Big Green Egg handle but . . .So it's a $33 handle bracket for your Big Green Egg with a $5 LED light. But you DO need a light that doesn't tie up a hand when your checking that beef brisket in the 11-15th hour. You paid $850 bucks for that Big Green Egg, so why not $43 for a light. LOL Note to Big Green Egg: At least have the Asian manufacturer stamp your name or logo on the bracket. ;-)

The two light modes work great for re-positioning the light as needed.

The value of this product is the bracket that holds the light. Any light will have a limited life but the bracket will last forever. The actual light is a common product you can find replacements searching for 27 LED work light. I found a six pack for $19.

I was in need of a good light for my BGE. This item has gotten such rave reviews I thought why not give it a chance. Boy was I wrong.This item does give light just not as bright as I wanted. The light really did not make much of a change when i look at the meat, i had to end up installing an additional outdoor light to provide enough light. The device as a whole is good, it is removable so if you want a close up you can just unhook it and use it as a portable flashlight. The install was very easy and seamless. But alas even with LED, easy install, detachable light,, and fitting on the BGE Xlarge easily, it still does not give me the light i want. Stronger LED's next time and I will pay more.

I like to cook brisket, which means I have to start cooking in the dark at 3 or 4 AM. This light is so bright and compact it gets the job done right. It's gotta be 10x brighter than any lED flashlight (looks to have 25 LED) and it attaches in just the right spot, using the nuts that hold on the handle.Did I mention it is BRIGHT…
