HP JetDirect 600N J3111A J3111 EIO Print Server NIC Card

Took less that 30 seconds to install. Printer recognized card. No problems. Definitely better that using the serial port on the printer.

I bought this to make a HP JetDirect printer network capable for my family's company and the item works as advertised. If I remember correctly, the item was essentially plug n play and was very simple to set up. Well worth the <$20 that was paid for it that allowed anyone in the office to print to it.

This card plugs right into my HP 2100 LaserPrinter, and it works great on my home LAN.Unfortunately, you need some skills and some old software to set it up. The card has a web server built-in, which allows you to configure it.The web server uses an old version of Java, which is blocked for security reasons by newer versions of Java, while old versions of Java can't be installed in Windows 10.I got out an old laptop running WinXP, and I installed a legacy version of Java (ver. 8.3, I think). I reset the DirectJet card by performing a cold reset on my LJ2100 with the card plugged in. Now, the DirectJet card has it's default IP address. I connect it to my laptop using the RJ45 ethernet connector, change my laptop to an IP within the same net as the default DirectJet, and use my browser to connect to the DirectJet IP. The Web page pops up, and allows me to set up a new IP for the card, within the same IP range as my home LAN. Save the new IP, then change my laptop to the home LAN IP range. Go to the IP assigned to the DirectJet card, and the Web Page comes back up. Now the card is ready for the LAN - hook it up.This is a lot of hassle, and there may be an easier way, but it worked for me!

With this network card, I was able to create a home network, so that I could use my HP Color Laserjet 4550 printer with Win 7. There was a problem mixing the 64 bit OS and the 32 bit processing of the printer. Win 7 would not recognize the updated drive. Now I do have the printing ability back. However, I still can't collate with this printer. This has to do with HP's driver though, and not this network card. Am very happy with this product and the store that provided it. Reasonable price and fast delivery!

Makes my 15 year old HP2100 Lasejet work well on my 2015 personal network.

Was thinking of putting to pasture my old LaserJet 2100M Postscript printer, especially since most new printers have built-in networking. But there's something to be said about a good laser printer's output that ink just can't substitute and this printer has been nothing but great for us. So I searched the Internet and came across the HP JetDirect 600N at Amazon and figured I give it try. Excellent choice! It was so easy to install and connect to my home's router that I can't believe I hadn't done this before. All our PCs, Laptops and/or gadgets can now print to it without the main computer being on. So now we'll keep the printer until it puts itself to pasture... :-) Lastly, the transaction and communications with the vendor were great. Received the item when promised. I used this in my HP LaserJet 2300D printer. The printer picked it up right away. I could not get the automatic DCHP working but that is fine because I use static IP addresses at home anyway. Check page 30 of the manual if you need help with the abbreviations (I consider myself computer savvy but I was still a little lost doing this for the first time [...]

Ordered this product after spending countless hours trying to work with a paralell cable usb converter...and this...worked like a charm. It did take me a little bit of research to know exactly how to get it to work...but after that...was done in less than 5 minutes. Product arrived fast...packaged nicely...and couldn't be happier.
