Pentel Mechanical Pencil Lead, Ain Stein, 0.7mm, 2B (C277-2B)

I prefer this Pentel Ain Stein 0.7mm 2B lead over Pentel Super Hi-Polymer HB since it writes smoother and slightly darker with lighter pressure, yet it erases easily and does not smear. It is also more sturdy than I expected. If all my refillable pencils weren't 0.7mm, I think Pentel Ain Stein 0.5mm 2B lead would be a good choice for me. I'm enjoying this lead.

These leads make a huge difference. Writing with them is very satisfying because they just glide across the page so smoothly and they produce very clean, dark lines.

Writes good and dark, doesn’t break easily. Much darker and softer to write with compared to Pentel super polymer lead that can be had in most stores. Great choice, makes any pencil feel premium.

This is just slightly darker than the 0.7mm HB leads that are at every store in the country. More like the #2 wooden pencils when you were a kid. I did want darker but darker is not available in a 0.7mm lead. To get darker I have to drop down to 0.5mm. I'm a lefty and pushing a 0.5 mm is too much scratchy resistance. This works fairly well for me as a writing lead. No visible smudging. It is noticeably more towards the black color spectrum and away from the gray. Adding extra pressure makes the line noticeably darker. I liked the effect. The slightly softer lead only produced a slightly different feedback sensation. My handwriting is mostly unchanged but it does require a bit more concentration to stay as neat as I was.

This lead is just the right softness for use on the newspaper-type paper used in the word puzzle books. I am completely safisfied. I found it super easy to get a piece of lead out of the package, once I stopped trying to pull off the lid and twisted it instead! Duh.

Just like the title says, its always pleasant knowing that pentel products are quite good quality, I use this lead for sketching and I always like to go for a darker tone.

O grafite é maravilhoso, ele é bem pigmentado e macio ao mesmo tempo. Dá pra sentir muito a diferença dos grafites comuns, valeu muito a pena!

The leads have a really nice color, quite deep, are very resistant, they don't break too easily. I highly recommend these leads!
