Excellent watch for a woman with low vision, a good value
My 82-year-old mother has "low vision" from wet macular degeneration and she is delighted with this watch, she loves to show it off to her friends, she even wears it to bed so she can easily check the time in the dark.- Easy-to-read dial, looks like an ordinary, nice watch, nothing fancy (which can be advantageous)- Solid and made to last with good materials- Clear and discreet voice (female, or you can select male) - not too soft, not too loud- Press the 2:00 pushbutton and it announces the time, press twice and it announces the day, month, date and year, press three times to check or set the alarm, press and hold to change between female/male announcement voice. It couldn't be any simpler or more foolproof, one pushbutton for almost everything, the 4-button versions are unnecessarily complicated and confusing- Surprisingly straightforward and easy to reset the time (i.e. spring forward/fall back DST), the voice prompts you as you set the digital time, then it's "cool" to watch the second hand whip around as the watch automatically resets the watch hands movement to match the digital time- Mom's wrist is very small, and I eventually had the stainless steel expansion band shortened by 5 links, which required the skills of a good watch shop. Gotham recommends that you have the standard CR2025 battery replaced at a watch shop, I concur.- Caution: Reset the time using the recessed 4:00 button, don't mistakenly use the 3:00 crown to manually adjust the watch hands as you would a normal analog watch, that will require that you then re-synchronize the watch electronics with the mechanical movement, you'll need the instruction booklet for that procedure- Limited lifetime warranty - just ship it to the repair center- There's no hint in the documentation of it being "water resistant", so I wouldn't count on it remaining undamaged if it was seriously immersed

Purchased for an elderly relative 18 months ago...still working great!
I purchased this for a relative who has macular degeneration and glaucoma. She has really enjoyed this watch for 18 months. It keeps time perfectly and the quality has been great. The only reason I am not giving it the full five stars is that the voice could be a bit louder and the watch is a little heavy on the wrist in my opinion. But my elderly relative does not seem to mind the weight. She has been completely satisfied. I came back onto Amazon to find the name of the watch so I could do a web search on replacing the battery. Finding this in my purchase history made me recall that I had read some comments about other buyers saying the watch didn't last long, I decided to write a review to say my relative's watch hasn't missed a beat in 18 months. Still working great and she loves it!

So Thick & Clunky That It Hurt My Mother's Wrist
I purchased this watch as a gift for my Mother who's vision is deteriorating. It would have been helpful if they had posted a side-view of the watch so you can see before ordering how thick and clunky the watch actually is. The watch is at least a third of an inch thick! My mother has delicate wrists, and after trying to wear the watch for just a few minutes it started to hurt her wrist. If you do decide to go ahead and order this watch, do NOT order from Magnifying Aids. I initiated a return as soon as I determined that this would not work out for my Mom. But since I was 2 days outside of the 14-day return window Magnifying Aids provides to Amazon customers (even though their own website clearly states that all products may be returned within 30 days) they refuse to accept the return and I am out $70.

Great for Low Vision
This is the second watch of this type that I have purchased for my Grandma. She has wet macular degeneration and have very poor vision. She relies on this watch very much. The first one broke after about a year. First the hands on the watch stopped working, which wasn't a huge deal because she mainly listened to the time. But then the voice stopped too. I would gladly buy one a year for her based on her dependence on it, however I am hoping this one lasts more than a year.

Sized for average to small wrist.
Bought for my mother who has macular degeneration. She is 5 ft about 120lbs and this watch fit her well. We bought another which was too big. Easy to use because there is only one button for her to push. Easy to set time and date. Something she can not do with her limited eye sight.

Nice features
Bought the watch for my mother. She has macular degeneration. She can see the watch fairly well, but the feature of a voice telling time, date, day and year was especially helpful when her sight was not up to par for the day. I set the voice feature as a woman. There is also a man's voice if you purchase for a gentleman. So far mom is pleased and I am satisfied with the quality. I also like that it is an atomic watch so no problem having to switch back and forth from from DST to regular time.

Great product!
This is an amazing watch. I did manage to set the time by following the instructions. I think that people who can't set the time don't know what to expect. When you get it right, the watch takes over and the hands spin round to match the voice. Amazing! Please be patient-- it took me awhile to get it right. This watch is great because there are only 2 buttons and they feel different. It's quite light. This is good for an elderly person. My mother wears it on top of her sweater.

Nice face. Couldn't set the time.
Purchased for sight impaired family member and the clock face is nice, very easy to read, but . . . we couldn't set the time (following directions.) Called factory support and they walked me thru and determined watch was defective. Returned it for a replacement - hoping it works.
