Kanye West: God & Monster

I got this as a gift for a friend that loves Kanye and he said it was one of the best books he’s ever read and it has A LOT of content. Way bigger of a book than I expected!

Great book! Really in depth and well constructed.

Great goft & excellent price

Beaumont does and excellent job of showcasing West's unquenchable drive and determination, but spends a large part of the work discussing the artist's music. The few peaks we get behind the scenes consist mostly of interview snippets, which makes it harder to understand the arc of Kanye's career. You can leave this book with the impression that Kanye West is impulsive and lacks self-control, when it is far more likely the legendary hip-hop performer has much more self-awareness than anyone will ever give him credit for. It's obviously a challenge to write about a rock star persona without relying too heavily on his music. The better parts of this book talk about Kanye's family life and serious ambitions as a fashion designer. Because the author relies so heavily on Kanye's career as a rapper, the picture we get of him is incomplete.

Real inspiring... I've always been a Kanye West fan and found this novel quite satisfying.
