Batman: Season 2 Part One

I have a silly sense of humor, so this may not be for everyone, but I love how cheesy and campy this show is.

I used to watch the ‘66 Batman series when I was a kid. I love it as much (even more) today!! Shipped very fast!!

Well, to be sure, I am not going to pan this old classic show. I really loved it then and I still love it. Adam West just seemed to enjoy this campy part so much, never got the reason for Aunt Harriet....sooooo annoying. some of the villains went way overboard and that is part of the charm of this show. We got Carolyn Jones, Art Carney, Otto Preminger, Cliff Robertson and to be honest some of the above were a little tedious BUT still had some fun. if you were a fan of the old camp show....you will love this.

We love Batman. My younger brother and I make deals so we can’t watch Batman without both of us. Adam West did an amazing job. We get mad at our dad for watching Batman without us. The only bad thing is it isn’t as great as the first season. Want more intense, watch the first season.

Batman,Season Two,Part one has the first 30 eps of that season.The serious/humorous antics of the dynamic duo continue.As I mentioned in my review of Season One,I have not seen these eps since I was a young teenager.Then I saw them in B&W.What a delightful shock to see them in such pristine condition and in colour....holy TV tuner Batman.This was a very smart show.To me as a youngster/hipster I took it more seriously, but what drew me to it was the way in which it was handled,on a light hearted and tongue in cheek level.Now as an adult I get the sly double entendre's even more, and the all the very smart quotes from different literary sources that just went over my head years before.West's straight delivery,with those deliberate vocal hesitations,were spot on.And the veteran cast ably backed West and Ward up in their own comic-serious way.Of course besides the main characters,one immediately thinks of the crooks.This season Julie Newmar is back at Catwoman,Burgess Meredith as The Penguin,Victor Buono as King Tut(one of my faves) and introducing the venerable Vincent Price as Egghead.Far less in excitement generating were the likes of Van Johnson as the Minstrel,Art Carney as the Archer,Walter Slezack as the Clock King,Shelley Winters as Ma Perker,Carolyn Jones as the Queen of Diamonds,director Otto Preminger as Mr.Freeze(the second incarnation) and last but the very least Liberace as Chandell.All big talents in their chosen fields(which shows you what a draw this show was for the acting community at large),but not very good for a show like this.Of course the Batmobile,the coolest thing on four wheels, is almost a personality all by itself.The show itself as always provides us with stock shots of New York and was shot in and around the L.A.area,including the studio lots.All in all Season Two sails on where the first left off.It's a delight to watch after all these years,as I am able to get the depth to which this show presented itself.Highly recommended.

Christmas present for my hubby. Bought the whole set (4 box sets). He really loved it. Brought back great childhood memories.

Great nostalgia. Watching the dvds brought me back to my childhood. Happy times.
