Verbatim Quality Flash Drive
I brought this to make a windows 10 recovery drive for a friend who was unable to login. Downloaded the recovery file from Microsoft. Sent it to my friend and it worked flawlessly. Always have had good luck with Verbatim flash products.

Do not even think about it!
A while back I got 4 of those for about $10 at OD b&m. I thought: a good deal, you can use them to- store a few video files (under 8 GB!);- give to someone as a gift;- make bootable drive to install OS- other uses...+ you get Verbatim Lifetime warranty. The very first one failed after one day so I decided to test the warranty: emailed, received classic response where I was asked to test this, test that, try this, try that - I'm an engineer, mostly I know when a device has gone bad. I followed what they asked I emailed with pictures I think twice; Then they asked me to show prof of purchase!!! - my parents don't work for Verbatim so they never received them in X-mas socks. And then finally they asked to send the defective product to them?! are you serious??? I asked for a supervisor and explained that I won't send it back to them on my money because I do not want to spend more! Finally they asked me to drill a hole in the drive, take pics for them and then they will honor the warranty which they finally did. While this warranty issue was going on I opened another one and used it and that one worked fine.I tossed the replacement in a drawer with the others. Recently I had to use a couple of drives as bootable with different OS's, so I decided to use my other 3 PinStripe... one of them failed after 2 plugs in my computer, and another one after one day, same thing as the very first one: they are not "seen" by the computer. Initially I wanted to go through Warranty again, but I gave up: best to toss them in the trash and go on with my life (after I spend my time on amazon writing a nice review).Thank you Verbatim!P.S. Once I use to trust your product... but that was a long time ago!

High level of failure
I use a lot of USB drives for various purposes and over many years I have tried dozens of different models/sizes from brand name companies and most of them are still going strong. I purchased several of these about 12 months ago when they were on sale at a local big box store. Unfortunately since then I experienced problems with most of these drives and 2 are total failures. They randomly indicate various hardware errors after copying data and 2 cannot be recovered. I still have a couple in the original packaging but I am reluctant to use them because they are so unreliable. Maybe I got a bad batch but I cannot recommend these drives.
