Beefy knife with great utility potential
This is a truly great knife. For the price I was skeptical of getting decent quality, but I'm happy to find Oerla proved me very wrong. It's not the sharpest knife you can get, but it's nothing that a few passes over a whetstone won't change (don't get me wrong, it IS sharp... easily passed the arm hair test). I'd also would prefer if the pommel was angled differently so one could get a proper pommel strike from it. As it stands the pommel is covered up in such a way by your hand as to make a decent strike with it infeasible without switching your grip (see pic). A very minor complaint. Bad stuff out the way, now we can talk about what makes it awesome... This is a THICC knife. Easily has enough weight and mass behind it to be a very good utility knife. It lacks a saw edge and the length of the cutting edge takes away from this utility, but it is definitely heavy enough to hammer, pound and perform non-cutting tasks if needed. However, this is first and foremost a weapon, not a tool, and it's designed with that in mind. The tip is angled for stabbing thrusts (though the edge doesn't extend to both sides though) and the edge of the knife is design in a way that makes it kinda... well, "reach out" towards whatever you're cutting. It's a little hard to describe, but awesome all the same. It's absolutely not a passive design. It's built from the ground up to be an offensive, attacking weapon and you can feel that when you hold it. The center of gravity is right about where the top screw is located, putting most of the weight in your hand and not in the blade itself, which is good. This adds lightness to cut and thrust motions but heaviness to the grip. The handle uses Allen screws to hold it firmly in place and it has a very nice, grippy texture cut into it so it won't slip from your hand. Between the width of the tang and the grips combined, it fills up your hand so you don't need to use an awkward over (or under) grip on the knife just to hold it steady. Lastly, there's 3 holes at the bottom pommel, which you could use to add a lanyard, ranger beads, or paracord wrapping if you wanted (though the thick grip on this knife might make adding paracord too much material). As for the kydex sheath... it's great! It's tight, so I definitely would suggest taking the knife in and out a bunch of times to sorta "loosen" it's grip. You could also, VERY CAREFULLY, bend the top of the sheath out some to try and loosen it slightly. I know Oerla says not to attach the knife upside down on your kit or backpack straps, but you can most definitely carry this knife upside down without any fear of it coming out. I've shook it with all my strength and the sheath will NOT let go of the knife. The one issue is that this also effects drawing the blade normally, as the sheath really doesn't want to let it go. You absolutely need to press your thumb on the top of the sheath while drawing and they designed it this way on purpose (and given you a small "ledge" to push off from). It's noticeable but not difficult. The belt clip the sheath uses is comfortable and easy to install on any size belt and at any angle (horizontal, vertical, etc. Personally the "factory setting" was perfect for me, with the knife slightly canted forward instead of it being straight up and down). It's a little big when compared to a standard folding knife that you might clip onto your pants pocket, but it's definitely slim enough to wear under a tshirt with minimal printing showing the world you're carrying something. Oerla made a great product with this knife and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. The price is good, the quality can be seen and felt in your hand, and the kydex sheath is perfect for carrying on your hip while you're in the city or attached to kit or a backpack if you're out hiking in the wild. It's beefy and extremely tough for uses other than cutting, but it's main function is clearly as a defensive weapon and it's design shows this first and foremost. If this is what you're looking for, then stop here and pick one up!!

This knife is absolutely amazing
I literally cannot believe how good this knife is. I expected it to just be kinda decent; because of the lame brand name and the price, but it is absolutely incredible. The weight on it is perfect, and it is insanely well made. The handle fits my hand perfectly. The belt clip is super thorough, tight, and easy to use. The lock is awesome, does its job perfectly. The knife came fairly sharp, actually, which was very surprising. I typically like my knives sharper so I ended up sharpening it more, but just rolling with how it came would have been fine. The quality is insane. No cheap plastic or lame steel on this. No sir. The handle is made of some sort of kydex/rubber mixture and the grip is awesome. The metal itself has absolutely no blemishes and appears to be very high-grade. The sheath itself and the clip are awesome as well, the clip is a thick, sturdy plastic and the sheath is very firm kydex. As for portability, itās not the easiest to carry around without a big sturdy belt, but itās still amazing. What else is incredible is despite the weight it actually feels very good slipped in your pocket (the handle does stick out btw) but otherwise it is amazing. Packaging was simple and high-quality. Overall give this knife a 10/10. Would definitely buy this again or more from this brand.

Extremely sharp, not the best holster
Right out of the box, this blade is sharp enough to shave with. It's an interesting design, the end is almost tanto styled, but it's almost 90° angle makes it stand out a bit more. The blade came coated in oil, even in the holster. Not a bad thing, I'd rather have oil than a rusty blade. The handle feels sturdy, although I wish they would've made the them flush with the steel. Sometimes when tightly grabbing the knife it digs into your skin. Even after the small complaints, it's a great knife that cuts well, feels good in weight and handling. ALTHOUGH... The sheath is a different story. It does hold the knife well, even with running around factories. The problem is there are adjustable pieces inside that can be moved to make room for different sized belts. The first time putting the sheath onto my belt, the adjuster fell out. I thought it was a fluke, but every time now I go to put it on, they fall out from lightly bumping into my belt. It would've been 5 stars if not for that. UPDATE: The blade does not hold an edge well, just from cutting cardboard it has become a butter knife. I'm sharpening it every couple of days just to get it to slice through cardboard and plastic bands. Carry around a small pocket sharpener with you if you plan on using it a lot.

Great for the price
Nice cleaver. Blade is common stainless steel not the expensive steel you find in $100 plus knives. However, for the price you pay, this knife will get the job done. The intent of the knife is to do work and it will get abused if used. But at the current price, you can replace when done. The hollow grind is not my favorite but it works.

Good buy š
Very good sturdy well made knife. Very Ergonomic. Handle feels really good doesn't feel like the handle will come apart like some cheaper Walmart dollar tree ones. Definitely one of the heavier knives out there but it's steel so you have to expect some weight to it. Not bad weight... the kind that let's you know it's going to last. Nice shape too. The back of the blade is not sharp enough to strike a ferro rod with the top straight part but the serrated looking part under the straight part will. I personally don't like the back of the blade to feel like it can cut because that's where my thumb goes sometimes so that's another pro for me. Aside from the weight really being preference there isn't any cons that I can think of. The plastic sheath is really good and adjustable for different sized belts. That feature is a rare one to find on any sheath. Lastly the price. If you're not sure about getting it, the 28$ price is a definite its worth trying it out price. Overall i give it a 10/10
