This book can be read a day at a time, used for weekly reading or read just about however you want to use it. I prefer using the content at the first of each week and the full week (chapter), concentrating on implementing the thoughts and suggestions for that week and then moving on to another week, not necessarily in a particular order. The content inspires me to be a more content, let go of situations and be less focused on bringing about the outcome I think is best-a new way of thinking for me. Very helpful.

Great for all people
This book was designed for friends of Bill and other anonymous programs. However, you can use it in your daily life even as a non-anonymous person. I found it quite useful. And I hope to share the values I learned with other people.

Changed my life
This book is a wonderful. It transformed my life and started me on a path of a joy filled life, full of purpose and meaning. It’s a light guide day to day to ensure your mind is where it should be as you embrace leaning in to a spiritual path filled with little to no resistance. Melody is an amazing person and a remarkable teacher. It is not an exaggeration to say this book changed me. I have given it away three times and bought it for others several times.

Right On
Most days Meditations hits me right where I am. It targets my inherent weaknesses and causes me to self-evaluate and change course (at least for that day--because the next day I seem to need the cousin of the previous article). These reflections are short, which is good, and helpful whether or not you are a Christian (I am). I have bought several others as gifts.

Nice format
I'm reading this book with a group of women. The format is a topic for each week with 7 small sections. We are reading a week's worth in one night and discussing as we go. The book topics can be read in any order so we just rotate picking the topic for the night. I would also be a good book to read daily on your own and spend the whole week on the topic. Melody Beattie never disappoints.

Helpful for ongoing growth
Melody Beattie is quite profound when she utilizes 12 Step concepts. I think she revolutionized our outlook on Codependency. She is less impressive when she drifts into New Age Metaphysics. THIS book, however is a gem. Once we get out of trouble (crisis, addiction, ennui...), what do we do next? Bounce along, or try to keep growing? "52 Weeks of Conscious Contact" helps us to continue in our spiritual development.

Co-dependency can literally kill a food addict. Addicts often need to set boundaries on addictive foods with household members and workplace colleagues. Co-dependency can prevent the addict from being able to do this. In this case, the addict can be stimulated by the availability of processed foods as well as the sight and smell of the addictive foods. Thank goodness Melody Beattie has given us this book to guide us day-by-day in the ways to get what we need.
