Anything Goes (2011 Revival Edition): Vocal Selections

Exactly as advertised!

I bought this to prepare for an upcoming audition. I knew this prior to buying it, but am disappointed that it does not include all the Cole Porter songs. I have been in this musical before, and I noticed several songs missing such as "Bon Voyage," "The Heaven Hop," "Take me Back to Manhattan, and "Let's Misbehave." I'm guessing there must be a couple versions of this musical...but I cannot find music for the Anything Goes version I was in years ago. Disappointing.

The only place I've seen such obvious paper skimping is in hymn books. Every song with more than one verse has a page at the end with only lyrics, instead of multiple verses stacked with the music or repeating the music for each verse. I recently got the Thoroughly Modern Millie book as well, and after playing through that one, this was such a disappointment. The paper is like newspaper - you can see the print on the back of the page because it is so thin. I guess the excuse is that they are being "green" (recycled paper) but really its just cutting costs using rough, thin coloring book quality paper. No pictures, either. The music is of course great, but I don't think it is going to last me long. The paper is already crinkled and creased, and I've just gone through it once. Buy a different version if you want the music.

This book is a replacement of one that I owned years ago. I love Cole Porter, and was in Anything Goes years ago on the community theatre stage. I'm a pianist and vocalist so this arrangement is perfect.

This is a great selection of the songs from the show "Anything Goes", and I really like it and glad to have found it.

I love this musical and am glad to have its songs and scores. The music is neither too complicated nor too simple.

The item arrived quickly in great condition. I was glad that it arrived on time for Christmas. I am happy with the arrangements of all the songs as well.

I saw this on Broadway with Sutton Foster and loved the new arrangements. Great songs that have stood the test of time!
