Cherne 269913 Kwik n Sure Mechanical Test Plug, 2-1/2",Small

Worked perfectly, plug size is hard to find. I used this for a non plumbing application. I am restoring an old drill press and the column was rusty. this plug fit perfectly inside a 2 3/4" column and allowed me to turn the column using a drill and support it with some casters to sand and apolish it. this size is not available in big box store. the plug is very well made and will definitely work as a pipe plug.

Just installed this pipe plug into a 2 1/2 inch floor drain that had sat open under wall to wall carpet which is being replaced. If you're reading this you know that there are few test plugs/pipe plug fittings for a 2 1/2 inch pipe. My plumber assured me that it would be "a piece of cake" to find one at the local Home Depot. There were none of this size at HD and several local plumbing supply houses. Non-Amazon online supply houses wanted $50+ for overnight shipping! Amazon, with a lot of UPS help, got it to me in under 24 hours and I was able to install it before the carpet installers returned for their second day.This device is designed for pressure testing so is quite solid and seems to hold tightly against the pipe wall, though I must admit I was worried about it sliding into the pipe if I wasn't careful as I put it in place to tighten. No worries about the drain backing up in this carpeted room, but it's time to call the soil pipe rooteres as insurance that all drains and downstairs toilet are safe from "flooding".

Older class A pumper/tanker, 2 1/2” valve rusted off of plastic tank. Didn’t need the valve, but did need to plug the hole. This part did just that.

I used this to plug up a drain line for easier access to unplug my main line. It used to plug up alot from the tree roots however, with this it's easier to access this pipe and unplug it when needed. Works great so far and now I'm just waiting for another pipe line backup. So much more easier to unplug it now! No more costly plumber's!!! DIY

The diameter adjustment range appears correct. Threading is 3/8-16 and elastomer is 40 Shore A.

It expanded to plug the hole just fine. However I had to modify it with a aluminium bracket so future me wouldn't drop it in the pipe (see photos). Can't trust that guy to remember his shirt :)

This was perfect for an old floor drain! We were having trouble finding a good fit and this we were able to tighten down and make a great seal.
