The book, The Portable Faulkner, is a good intro to Faulkner's work as well as a refresher for someone who has beenaway from Faulkner for an extended period. It helps bring the author and his works into focus and it is great to have this this information/readings all in one volume. Any assist in dealing with Faulkner is a valuable asset. Enjoy!

Book arrived on time, excellent condition

This book contains the key short stories and novel excerpts that caused Faulkner's reputation to soar beginning in the mid-1940s. Although he had been active since the 1920s, this book was the one that made him a household word.

I am going back and reading faulkner again after 35 years and I get so much more out of the text. This edition in very good shape and I'm proud of it.

I was trying to get introduced to the author and this achieve the goal. It provide short works that gives you a flavour of style and vision. However at times it feels the material is fragmented and you lose the sense of wholeness.

Good edition and a perfect gift for booklovers. Font is slightly smaller than usual.
