I have purchased compression socks before. These are the best that I've ever purchased! They are heavier than the ones that I bought in the past. At 5'3" and currently swollen to 190ish pounds, width-wise the L-XL size works very well. They aren't too hard to put on, so they are not like the hospital compression garments in that way. My knees are especially swollen, and that, combined with being short, make the tops of these cut in a bit uncomfortably. Not too bad, though, and by folding the tops down, they actually work even better. They have stayed folded down for me, too.These are synthetic and they are not going to "breathe" like ones that have the toes cut out, so these need to be coupled with fastidiousness when it comes to cleaning your feet or problems would develop. Because it is a multi-pack, though, it is easy enough to change them two or more times a day, and I recommend that you consider that if you are going to have these on most of the time. These look normal enough that they can be work as normal socks, even for business, in my opinion. I wouldn't even think twice about that. I am hand-washing them, as in the past the dryer has destroyed compression socks. It is taking a full 24 hours for them to dry (A/C and dehumidifier are running). Right now until I get swelling under control I am using 3 pairs a day, and with a generous 7 pairs in this pack, I can allow them that time to dry, no problem.I hope that this helps with your shopping decisions. I just gave this product 10 stars. My wife suffers from foot pains in both feet, the pain is so bad that their are days she struggled to walk. She's been back and forth to doctors until finally she had to get an MRI . They were able to narrow it down to 2 possibilities but yet she's still left with the pain until she sees another specialist. So I did some research on compression socks that's affordable and since the reviews on these were so good I gave them a try. As soon as they arrived it came on a day my wife was in real pain. She struggled to put a pair on because of the pain AND WITHIN A MINUTE OR TWO THE PAIN WAS ALREADY GOING AWAY. SHE LOVED THEM SO MUCH SHE SLEPT WITH THEM ON AND FOR THE FIRST TIME , SINCE EXPERIENCING THE PAINS , SHE HAD A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP WITHOUT THE PAIN WAKING HER UP THROGHOUT THE NIGHT. SHE WAS EVEN MORE AMAZED WHEN SHE TOLD ME HOW WELL SHE FELT AT WORK LITERLY PAIN FREE AND FOLKS SHES A TEACHER WHICH REQUIRES A LOT OF STANDING AND SHES ONLY IN HER VERY EARLY 40's . DONT GET MEAWRONG IM NOT ENDORSING THIS LIKE ITS SOME MIRACLE WORKER, BUT THESE COMPRESSION SOCKS A BLESSING FROM GOD.

I have been using these stockings for edema and in a matter of a week my feet and ankles are back to normal size! I am very pleased with the quality, price, and performance of these compression socks. Reading other reviews has left me confused about the fit people are complaining about. I got S/M size, I’m 5’7” and 155 lbs, normal shoe size 9, and they fit fine. They are tight- they are compression socks-they are supposed to be tighter than regular socks! These socks are about the same quality as the ones I got from the local medical supply company for $55 for one pair!! I’m very happy with my purchase. Here’s a tip- i always put my compression socks on inside out so the toe seam doesn’t drive me nuts.

This is my first experience with compression socks and it has been a good one. Actually I had to wear some in the hospital once and they were awful. These that I bought on Amazon are soft, comfortable and come clear up to my knees. I've had issues with swollen ankles for years and these socks have taken the swelling completely away. did I say they were comfortable!! They don't cut into the back of my knees and I can easily wear shoes or boots with them. I would recommend them to anyone that needs compression socks. I will be buying more.

I bought a set for myself, S/M (my shoe size 7.5), and for my husband, L/XL (his shoe size 11.5), to wear on an upcoming long international flight itinerary. I cannot report on how effective they will be in preventing leg fatigue, swelling or DVTs yet, but I will post again after our trip. We have tried them on and the fit and comfort are superb. The top of the sock pulls up over the calf to just under the knee and is smooth and non-binding. The price is fantastic even though we plan to ditch the white and nude colors which are hideous. The black, gray, blue and brown can pass as regular socks. The foot compartment is also comfortable with wiggle room for toes. I left the socks on for about an hour and the overall sensation was a pleasant gentle pressure from the arch of the foot through the calf.
