This product is marketed more for type 3 hair but type 3 hair products work better on my hair as the type 4 products tend to be a bit too heavy for my hair. My curls are nicely defined, moist, shiny, and soft (I do not like hold/crunch). I applied it right after I cowashed my hair on soaking wet hair (but after passing the palm of my hand several times over my hair to squeeze some of the excess water). I strongly recommend this product. I don't know how it will be the second day after I refresh with my water spray but today it is really nice. I have 3c-4a hair and was pleased with the result. It did not create as much curl definition as I would have liked (had some ringlets in some places and others not as defined), but I was more pleased with the fact that my hair was pillow soft and had no shrinkage. You have to really work the product in because it goes on white. My hair is a short little curly fro now, so I can get by washing everyday. Although I haven't tried this yet, I think there are better products for set styles and twists because of the way this goes on. Still, I am going to purchase this over and over because compared to all the other things I've tried, this by far left my hair feeling and looking the way I most desire.
