Well worth the cost and cooking time.
This is by far the best oatmeal as well as hot cereal I have ever tasted. It has a wonderful, creamy, nutty flavor. The feel and consistency in the mouth is fantastic. It does take a lot of time to simmer but it is well worth it. Ours took about 45 minutes to cook. It is trrrific with fresh fruit and cream but tastes fine plain too. Steel cut oats are much better tasting than rolled oats such old fashioned Quaker Oats. We have tried other Irish imports but this is by far the best.

I've tried so many oatmeal but none compare to this. Made with with water it's creamy and smooth with a slightly nutty flavor. I got the quick cooking version and the expiration date is a year and a half from now.
