Initially I was trying to decide between buying this complete lid or buying the leather skin and installing myself. I’m glad I picked the complete lid! Two reasons: 1. The padding on this is twice that of the stock padding, its way more comfortable! I had to replace my old leather because my elbow finally wore a hole in it. 2. While taking the screws out of the old lid where it attaches to the console, I found I had two broken screw holes. Which means my lid was about to fail soon anyways. Ok 3 reasons, no pulling the old cover off and then gluing a stapling the new one!Color match, black is black, but this is more of a matte black than a shiny black. It’s also not 8 years old and well used yet. Unless you’re looking for it specifically, no one will notice. The only reason anyone notices the new lid is when they put their elbow on it and it’s way more comfortable than stock.Construction; the stitching looks decent, we’ll see how it holds up. The screw holes for the hinge didn’t line up very well at all. They would have lined up but the plastic pins that go through the mount wouldn’t let them. Hold it away from the hinge, push the screw through the metal hinge, the push the lid up to it. Screw in half way until all screws are in, then you can tighten them up. Also, the plastic piece on the top is too big for the rubber pad. Not that big of a deal.

So far so good. The lid got to me fast and fit right on my console. The screws used were the cheap Chinese metal ones but they don't really take much stress. I still replaced them with the original Canadian screws though. Fits and works fine and much less expensive than a dealer or after market seller. Time will tell about durability.

I'm not much of a review guy. But damn . Much easier to install my kids could've done it for me. Everything went on perfect. The original console started cracking where my elbow rests and has drove me crazy for a out a year now. To expensive at GMC dealership. Expensive to recover. Then BAM it hit me. Go on Amazon. Well if you need one here's the fix. Perfect. 2012 GMC fit with no problem and took no more that about 10 minutes

I bought this to replace my OEM console lid being curious of the quality. The leather was poorly installed and I actually had the trim around hinge area to get it to latch. Even then I have to forcefully close the lid to get it to latch, I think it’s placement is a little off.

Loved having the option to replace my old torn center console for a decent price. This is a great fit and looks nice and sleek. Only downfall is you have to slam it shut due to the clasp. If you shut it softly, it doesn’t close. Other than that, very happy with it.

The console lid looks good and is definitely and improvement but the holes to attach it to the hinge don't line up, I finally got two of the four screws in.

The factory screws or the screws that came with the lid weren't long enough. Had to go buy longer ones. Once installed, the lid wouldn't latch. I still have to push down on the front part of the lid pretty firmly so it will latch. Quality is good. I'm happy.

I was not expecting Full or Top Grain Leather when I purchased this product but was at least expecting the lower grade leftovers of Real or Genuine Leather made into a facsimile of the quality stuff. This product seems to be a Polyurethane Leather (PU) that passes as nice looking and better than Vinyl (PVC) Leather but I doubt it would last more than a year when using it as an armrest every day, which I was why I was wanting the genuine for more wear resistance. In contact with the seller, they said it was guaranteed genuine and they could be trusted. Nope, I'm sending back and will purchase Top Grain Leather and make a cover myself.
