As a mom who struggles with OCD and a constant need for everything to be truly clean, I can honestly say this product has changed the way I do laundry. I’ve always been anxious about whether my family’s clothes, towels, and bedding were really free of germs — especially with kids who bring home all sorts of things from school and sports. The Lysol Tough Odor Eliminator Laundry Sanitizer gives me such peace of mind. It doesn’t just make things smell good; it kills bacteria and completely eliminates those hidden odors that detergents can’t always handle. Towels that used to have that damp “funk” now smell genuinely clean and fresh. It’s like hitting the reset button on every load. I use it on everything — uniforms, sheets, gym clothes, even stuffed animals — and it always leaves them smelling and feeling sanitized. The scent is light, not overwhelming (which is a big deal for me), and it doesn’t trigger any sensitivity or chemical smell anxiety. It’s super easy to use: I just add it to the fabric softener compartment, and it does its thing. Works perfectly in my HE washer and even on cold cycles. The fact that it kills 99.9% of bacteria gives me so much reassurance — it’s one less thing for my mind to worry about.

I use Lysol Laundry Sterilizer for washing any soiled linens or clothes for my elderly parent with severe urinary incontinence. I use this in combination with Persil Oxi + Odor Power laundry detergent. When the odors or stains are at their worst, I also add a scoop of OxiClean Odor & Stain Remover to the washing machine. This combination is the only thing I’ve found that COMPLETELY removes the strong scent of urine from clean laundry. I wish I didn’t need to add so many products to laundry, but it’s what works. While it costs more than I’d like, this Lysol Laundry Sterilizer works. Removing the strong odors has improved my quality of life, so I think buying this sterilizer is worth its cost. When I use this Lysol to remove body odor or less caustic smells, I only use between a half of a cap-one full cap per load. Using two cap-fulls of the 90 oz Lysol (what’s recommended on the back of the bottle) for every soiled load of laundry typically lasts me one month. Outside of removing foul scents from laundry, I also use this Lysol sanitizer to clean out my washing machine. Between times that I deep clean my washing machine, I’m more comfortable when I know my personal laundry isn’t being contaminated by another person’s soiled things. When the laundry smells the worst, I’ll add the Lysol Laundry Sanitizer to a basket of soiled laundry before putting it in the washing machine. After the laundry has had a chance to soak up the Lysol laundry sanitizer, I add a scoop of OxiClean Odor + Stain Remover to the load of laundry. Then, I put the actual laundry detergent (Persil with the orange label) in its intended compartment. This combination is the only thing I’ve found that COMPLETELY removes the scent of urine from clean laundry. The Lysol laundry sanitizer also helps to remove any stains that come from incontinence. If the laundry isn’t as soiled (or if it’s my own load of dirty gym clothes), I will add Lysol Laundry Sanitizer to a load of wash about 15-30 minutes before adding detergent and starting the machine. I’ve found that adding the Lysol Laundry Sanitizer to my filled washing machine before it begins or halfway through the cycle works best. I haven’t had issues receiving these bottles from Amazon with any leaks. The scent is pleasant, and not too strong. The laundry sanitizer smells fresh, similar to Lysol multi-surface spray.

Can’t attest to actual bacterial action but everything g seemed cleaner and the smell was mild and pleasant. Easy to use. Goes in fabric softener spot in washer. I used it for hand washing also. Safe on delicates.

This works so well, I am in love. I have been struggling with my husband's soccer uniforms. Drenched in sweat every time, and even after every wash, a slight odor lingers in folded areas, such as waist elastics and the neck area. I've tried many methods to avoid damaging the fabric, but nothing worked like this one! After just one wash, it smells incredibly fresh and clean. This is not like other fragrance product that only covers the odor, but this one actually removes it. Love it so much!!

I will never be without this in my laundry room! Fantastic product to get rid of any of that "funk" that some towels tend to get over time ( or- ok.... so, they sat in the washer for a couple of days and nobody bothered to throw them in the dryer and .... yuck! they stink!) .... but... not just towels - any thing that just doesn't seem to want to freshen up or get really good and clean - a capful of this with your regular laundry detergent will get rid of that musty-moldy-icky smell!
