Martha Blah Blah (Martha Speaks) Paperback – Picture Book, March 30, 1998

You can’t go wrong with Martha. Very entertaining books for kids. Lots of laughs.

Martha Blah Blah can be seen as a prequel for the whole Martha Speaks series because it explains in words and pictures how and why Martha came to speak. For anyone learning to speak, read, write, & communicate this book offers a compassionate view of the struggle and the value of persistence in an easily understandable format.The book explores many themes including loss, relationships, trust, integrity, truthfulness and commitment. Pretty impressive for 32 pages in a picture book. Of course, all that would be irrelevant if this final bit was not true. Our children love it, ask for it, act it out, ask questions and request soup. Alphabet soup. Pre-school, Kindergarten, first and second graders are the target audience but don’t be surprised if you find something to think about too.

This book is the first book in the Martha series based on the PBS TV show. All of my kids loved the books and the TV show. The dog eats vegetable soup and now she can talk,so cute.

MARTHA STAY A LONG TIME BEFORE SPEAKING WITH GRANNYS FLOR SOUP FORMULA TO SPEAKING,AND MARTHA WANTS TIME BACK AGAIN.AND SPEAKLY FOR HOURS.

I enjoy this book for the reason that it is simple and fun. Kid's have a natural connection with animals and Martha is a lovable family dog that has a special gift that helps her communicate with her family. I recently purchased it for a few friends who have toddlers. They all love it.I understand this book is part of a series. I have not read the others, but do recommend this one highly for toddlers and young readers.
