If you are already a Thoth tarot reader or collector then this deck in your arsenal. It’s a no brainer! Renata Lechner did an amazing job keeping very close to the original Crowley/Harris design ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Excellent Modern Thoth influenced tarot. *by M***S on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on June 19, 2019* This is a review for the new Millennium Thoth tarot published by Lo Scarabeo. This deck is a digital re- interpretation of the classic Crowley Thoth tarot but it is not a 100% complete re-interpretation. The not-so-little book describes the deck as heavily influenced by the Thoth and I would say that's accurate. Many of the cards are almost exactly like their original Thoth counterparts except rendered in quite attractive digital art. Other cards are somewhat different from the original version but are still respectful to the original art - Death and Lust (Strength) spring to mind. The Millennium Thoth is borderless and does not include keywords on the cards - that's a definite couple of plus points for me.Another major change which may annoy Thoth purists is that the suit of Discs has been renamed Pentacles - Crowley was not a fan of using the term Pentacles. Personally, this doesn't bother me but your mileage may vary.I have used and studied the actual Thoth tarot for some years and I really like and enjoy using the Millennium Thoth. It's very close in terms of art to the Thoth but not identical which means it provides a fresh experience to those who want something 'Thoth like'. One caveat I would add; for those wanting to learn and study the Thoth I would still recommend using the original deck as the Millennium does do away with some defining symbology. However, if you love the Thoth and want another very Thoth like deck then I fully recommend the Millennium Thoth over any other Thothy deck. I have deducted one star as one of the cards in my copy had some minor printing issues. The cardstock is thin but stiff and laminated - that may not appeal to everyone but it does make the cards very durable.Overall, this is a pretty good Thoth alternative for people who have already experienced the classic Thoth. I will continue to use the deck- it reads incredibly well for me. ### ⭐⭐ Not for me! The major arcana cards are really nice and beautifully done but the minor arcana are just how do I put it boring! I like to work intuitively but the minor arcana just doesn’t give you anything. I just don’t connect with them at all so don’t use them.I don’t recommend these cards for beginners at all nor do I recommend to anyone that likes to work intuitively using pictures.
