Excellent grease.
Excellent grease for my BMW X5 panoramic sunroof. Only VW sell this product specifically for that purpose and since both BMW and VW group use the same mechanics for their sliding roofs (Webasto I guess) it is a perfect product.I did not want to experiment with lithium/silicone and other greases as many people on the forums do since the repairs would be too expensive if anything is damaged due to wrong grease type usage. So me greases do attack plastics and most parts in the modern roofs are plastic. The grease is slightly whitish/beige in color, almost transparent, when you spread it out it is transparent and it is light, can be easily applied with a little hard bristle paint brush.

Use for Mercedes too!
way cheaper than Mercedes grease and works way better. I purchased a small thumbnail sized quantity from mercedesource.com (overpriced) and found the OE Mercedes grease to be way too expensive and too tacky. This VW grease is superior in every way, performance and price. Wish I greased my sunroof sooner instead of waiting years to do this.

Infamous rattle
So I, like many 2016 q5 owners have the infamous sunroof rattle. I took it to the dealer and they charged me $250.00 to tell me that yes, the sunroof rattles and the only way to fix the rattle is to pay $3500 to replace the whole sunroof.I did some digging on forums and one of the recommendations was to purchase this product. I followed the procedures that were given; cleaning the sunroof rails, applying the product, moving the sunroof back-and-forth to distribute the lube. It seemed to do the trick and lasted for about two months. I will continue to do this every two months as this seems to alleviate the annoying sounds and for $27.00, it seems like a bargain.I also used the lube on the trunk lifts as they began to squeak and those are still good to go.

Must have.
Had tried several different lubricants and greases on my sunroof, which seemed to get "tight" midway, and instead of closing, reversed itself for safety. After cleaning out all the other lubes and greases, I coated the tracks with this, and within 2 cycles, the moon-roof functions quite well. No more safety kicking in.Goes to show, today's high tech, low tolerance, exotic material vehicles require the correct type of lubricant for each intended purpose.

Taped some garbage bags up around inside trim to protect car interior ...
Did not resolve issue with my squeaky AUDI Q5 sunroof. I lubed all of the rubber side seals and such as is described by many having same issue. Even tried it in and on the tracks and rollers. Tried several applications over several days. Finally got mad and gave up.FIX: Taped some garbage bags up around inside trim to protect car interior and with roof open, sprayed the **** out of it all with WD-40 and it's 95% quieter. The scraping squeak is gone that happened when opening and closing, which was the most annoying sound ever. Also seems to have resolved the slight creak noise the roof makes when closed and going over bumps that some describe as from body flex. Will likely have to repeat treatment but is surely cheaper than this German astrolube.

I cleaned them out then applied this to the proper places and the sunroof is now working better than it has in many years
Does what it's supposed to. Our Audi A4 Avant with panoramic sunroof was having issues closing all the way. After looking at the mechanism, I could see the slides and rails were dry as a bone. I cleaned them out then applied this to the proper places and the sunroof is now working better than it has in many years. Item shipped quickly. This amount should last us many years of regular maintenance. You could try other "normal" greases but this is specifically designed to withstand the elements, huge temperature swings, and dirt that the car would normally encounter.Doing this yourself is easy and will save a lot of money compared to a dealer visit.

The recommended lubricant for the tracks for Volkswagon and Audi sunroof tracks
Great product, and the proper lubricant for the tracks on your sunroof. You might be able to get away with using a white lithium grease but those are pretty viscous and from personal experience caused the sunroof to close rather slowly. This grease is a light (viscosity) and translucent grease and spreads easily with a small paint brush or epoxy brush. The 90 gram tube is about the size of a Sensodyne toothpaste tube. This might help those of you looking for where to apply grease on the tracks, broken down by model. Keep in mind that there is another grease for complete service and might be worth cleaning the drains while you're up there.http://uberlame.com/a6_tsb/Interior%20Noises/Noises%20from%20sunroof%202022733-2.pdf
