Museum Quality Wind Sculpture.Really Spins. Sturdy. Lasts a Lifetime
I bought several cheap wind spinners (ones under $150) and was always disappointed. The cheap ones don't spin except in 30+ mph winds and even then they don't spin fast because there is too much friction or because they are unbalanced. They cheap kind won't last long either. I already had one where the top fell off and would have to be welded on, but is never spins anyway so I'm just throwing it out.I got fed up with the cheap stuff and bought this majestic spinner. The spinner has steel ball bearings hidden inside which is the key in reducing friction to insure easy movement. What I received was so well engineered and so superior in it's materials and workmanship I realized it was not only worth every penny but it was in fact a bargain. The thickness of the pole mean no bending at the joints or shimmying like cheap spinners tend to do. The top of the sculpture is also strong, thick and sturdy metal that is perfectly balanced. It shines beautifully and I choose to spray it with Rust-Oleum Gloss Clear Enamel to keep it shiny all year long.I was rewarded right away with a little breeze and a spinning sculpture. It is definitely sculpture because its design is so well executed that it belongs in a museum as a fine example of kinetic art. I hate the cheap ones I bought previously and I love this Stanwood wind sculpture so much I bought three others by Stanwood which have made me very happy with their quality, amazing designs and ease of movement even when the wind is low. When we get a real windy day I look out a window and am fascinated by their beauty. There are most costly wind sculptures ($1000 and up) elsewhere, but Stanwood wind sculptures have the perfect quality at a more than reasonable price for lifetime outdoor art.

Looks Great!
This product is well made, was relatively easy to assembly (so long as you make sure to put the spinners on correctly so that the correct side is up and they spin in opposite directions). It was a shiny copper when it arrived. I want it to age and so did not go the suggest route to keep it shiny (spraying with clear lacquer). This wind sculpture is much better made than and uses heavier duty copper than the inexpensive products, so it should last a long time. This makes it worth the price.

Merry Christmas to me!
This arrived two days ago. My husband has put it together but it is not outside yet as it has not quit raining long enough. He is really impressed with the workmanship and the quality. I too have bought others over the years and none of them have lasted very long. This one looks very promising. Two reasons I gave it 4 stars - one, I haven't seen it in action yet and two - I thought it was made here in USA because I looked up Stanwood Wind Sculptures but this sculpture had a very small 'made in China' tag on it that my husband found. Dang it.I have been looking at these sculptures for years as I love the ones in the movie Twister. But they have all been very spendy. I have high hopes for this one and the other one that I bought at the same time. Merry Christmas to me.

Interesting Wind Sculpture
The media could not be loaded. I have a couple of Stanwood Copper Wind pieces now, the other is the figure 8. This one seems to be keeping it's copper color, where the 8 started to turn green within days. I want the patina, so I didn't spray them with clear. Not sure what the difference is. Like how this one moves in alternate directions, seems to need slightly more wind then my others to more. Well made. Easy to assemble, although getting adn keeping them plumb is a real challenge. No one seems to notice though.

Great wind spinner!
Below is the review I just wrote for Stanwood's octupus design wind spinner. The same holds true for this one.We have a total of 6 of these wonderful spinners! Two of them we have had for about 2 years, the other four we just splurged and bought about a month ago. These wind spinners are high quality and hold up in high winds (we have seen them do just fine with 50 mph winds all day long.) We have painted them all with clear coat, and they hold their beautiful copper shine. They don't squeak or hang up, and they are well balanced. I am proud to say I now have all of Stanwood's wind spinner designs, and if they come out with any others, I'll be first in line to purchase!

Did not like this design as much as the others which I love
Did not like this one, bought two of the more traditional wind sculptures from this company which are wonderful and well made. This one just was not as attractive as the other two. The company took it back with no fuss. Good company, excellent products - this was just a personal aesthetic issue for me.

Second to none
After years of frustration with inexpensive wind spinners including rust and frozen bearings after one season's use, I researched higher quality spinners and purchased the all-copper Quaking Aspen Stanwood Wind Sculpture with sealed bearings. Assembled it today, and was very pleased with the materials, construction and overall design. Expect it will be well worth the investment!
