Finally Something Beautiful that really spins that will last a lifetime
There are most costly wind sculptures ($1000 and up) elsewhere, but Stanwood wind sculptures have the perfect quality at a more than reasonable price for lifetime outdoor art and this design spins so well (in opposite directions) and is amazingly beautiful. .i bought several cheap wind spinners (ones under $150) and was always disappointed. The cheap ones don't spin except in 30+ mph winds and even then they don't spin fast because there is too much friction or because they are unbalanced. They cheap kind won't last long either.I got fed up and bought this majestic spinner. The spinner has steel ball bearings hidden inside which is the key in reducing friction to insure easy movement. What I received was so well engineered and so superior in it's materials and workmanship I realized it was not only worth every penny but it was in fact a bargain. The thickness of the pole mean no bending at the joints or shimmying like cheap spinners tend to do. The top of the sculpture is also strong, thick and sturdy metal that is perfectly balanced. It shines beautifully and I choose to spray it with Rust-Oleum Gloss Clear Enamel to keep it shiny all year long.I was rewarded right away with a little breeze and a spinning sculpture. It is definitely sculpture because its design is so well executed that it belongs in a museum as a fine example of kinetic art. I hate the cheap ones I bought previously and I love this Stanwood wind sculpture so much I bought two others by Stanwood which have made me very happy with their quality, amazing designs and ease of movement even when the wind is low. When we get a real windy day I look out a window and am fascinated by their beauty.

Truly beautiful artwork; a wonderful addition to any garden
Absolutely gorgeous. Purchased as a gift to go in our front-yard garden, it is exactly what we were looking for (a beautiful, yet subtle addition to our small garden). It was very fast and easy to assemble. I placed the windmill in soft dirt, so I needed to drive the pole fairly deep to ensure stability (be sure to have a rubber mallet or other soft "pounding" device when you install this, as it is pure copper and brass). After driving the main pole deep enough (approximately 12-18") and placing the three provided stakes into the ground, the windmill was very stable. And, for the most important part, it looks amazing, easily spinning with even the most gentle breeze. Highly recommended!

Worth the extra cost
I have been looking at these windmills for over a year - wanted one bad but couldn't see paying that much so after knowing I didn't owe taxes this year I ordered one. Amazon with free shipping was as cheap as I could find after really doing some shopping around. It is balanced and really well made and designed. Slightest breeze and it will turn. The reflection off of it flashes through the window and I just love it and to know it will look and turn the same for years and years makes me smile. Hun said its pretty but "you paid how much? " I just mumbled and smiled

Great at catching the wind, regardless of direction
Easy to assemble. Very sturdy when inserted into the ground. Spinner easily rotates on top of the pole to catch the wind from any direction. Will rotate and spin with the slightest breeze. Looking forward to seeing how the patina develops with age. A bit too brassy in color for my taste, but I still like how it performs.

Not my favorite Stanwood
The media could not be loaded. This is my 7th Stanwood wind spinner and my collection is now complete. I have to say, out of all the spinners I have from Stanwood, it’s the least interesting. It simply looks like two propeller blades going in opposite directions. The welds on the blades are very obvious, and it takes more wind to get this going than the others I have. The circumference is smaller than expected, but maybe I should have paid closer attention to the description. My point is, you’d probably be happy with this if it’s your first Stanwood purchase, because you have nothing to compare it to. For me however, I ordered it to balance my display, and complete my backyard design. The quality is good, the spinner itself is rather “meh” and for the price, I think you’d be happier with one of the other designs.

Great patio addition.
Very well made. Looks terrific next to our deck. We take it down (very easy) when severe weather is forecast. Don't want to risk damage.

We are very happy with the Kinetic Sculpture
We are very happy with the Kinetic Sculpture. It spins in a very light wind, it looks cool in our garden, it was simple to assemble and install. We have only had it for several months, so this is a short term review. It does look well made.BTW we are not coating it to keep it shiny, we prefer a more tarnished muted look. New, it was too flashy especially in a bright sun.

Amazingly Wonderful Spinner!
Is there a way to give this a six star rating? We adore the spinner! It is copper and brass with a very sturdy pole and smooth spinning mechanism. We also bought 2 other spinners from different companies at the same time to do a grouping. The other two were much less expensive but also much less sturdy and I am sure will not last past this summer. We have some wind here at the farm but this spinner handles it well. My prediction is that we will replace the lesser spinners with more from this company.
