Very Informational
A lot goes on behind the scenes of everyone's favorite singers, rappers, and other musical artists. Gio Williams proves that the whole process definitely isn't left up to the artists - the record label performs much of the work. This book is help in outlining how to legally start a record label, how to figure out what kind of label is best for you, and how to promote your record label. Money is definitely something else to consider. You will need capital to begin and a way to successfully make money after beginning the label. If you are thinking of beginning a record label, I would definitely read through this book to make sure you're hitting all the bases.

record label beginners guide!!
how to start a rap record label is a great information guide that shows you how to legally start your own record label, and in doing so you have to find out what label is right for you and how to promote your label to increase revenue.Everyone sees the artists but no one recognizes the work that these labels put out in order to get things moving, and it is a lot of hard work. I would recommend this to anyone wishing to start their own label , it is a great beginners guide.

Time for a re-write
This book was written in a different era of hip-hop. Some advice still hold true, but tons of information is left out. The best way to use this book is to pair it up with other books written about the music business that focus on internet and social media strategies.

I consider this a "definitive" guide
The author wrote an excellent book on how to start and run a record label. This book is a very informative book for a beginner and for those that have been working in the music industry for years. I was interested in consulting this due to various reasons. The book is very informative, with step by step and insightful information. I highlighted many of the promotional strategies and will keep this book with me through it all. Anyone thinking about starting their own label should read this!

Excellent Resource
I have downloaded a ton of eBooks over the years and I have to say this is one of the best, most comprehensive and well-researched guide books I have ever downloaded. Itโs not going to take you all the way to starting a successful record label, but it does cover in brief everything that you need to think about and plan for. The first part of the book is a narrative on the different elements of a rap record level, explaining what you need to think about and do, why to do it, and how to do it. Then, in the second part the author combs through everything touched on in the first part and reduces it to a series of lists and questions (I found this particularly useful as a basis for a business plan / strategic plan), finally the third section contains several appendices of useful information and contacts. All in all I think that if you get this book you will be a head and shoulders above the competition as long as you implement all the suggested actions.
