Walk confidently on icy surfaces with this pair of ICEtrekkers Chains. Like tire chains for your feet, the chains are perfect for all snow conditions, including snow, slush, and packed and crusty surfaces. The durable links are individually TIG welded and made from case hardened steel. The traction stems from the unique ladder pattern under the ball of the foot combined with the triangular pattern on the heel, which provides stable footing and is comfortable for extended wear. Plus, the chains' hearty rubber sling attaches securely to almost any footwear type, so you can wear them with running shoes, hiking boots, and even dress shoes. The sling, which stays flexible in subzero temperatures, also keeps the chains from falling off even in deep snow.

## Features

- These ice cleats are super comfortable and work great in the snow.
- Case hardened welded links on the chains, superior quality and durability.
- Easy on/off design that is comfortable to wear for long periods of time.
- ICEtrekkers are the ultimate ice cleats

    Outstanding.

I was a Yaktrax user for years, & don't get me wrong, there is a place for them. But I came to expect one season or less from them because of their design; the rubber on the bottom would always break & I might be able to extend their life by repairing with a paper clip or something, but in general I thought of them as disposable. Enter Ice Trekkers, which I got because of the number of ex-Yakkers who talked about how much better Ice Trekkers were. I agree 100%. I live in the mountains in an area where the trails can be quite rocky. With yaktrax, if the snow had started to melt & there were bare areas, I had to either keep taking them off & putting them back on or going out of my way to stay on snow so that the rubber wouldn't come in contact with rocks. Kind of a PITA. If the snow was deep enough everywhere to be able to stay on the trail 100% & not come in contact with rocks, I'd rather just use snow shoes. Anyway, since I've had the Ice Trekkers I haven't babied them at all. I leave them on through the entire hike, over the bare parts, over the rocks, stumps, logs, mud, & of course snow & ice. The design keeps all the rubber above the sole so they have completely held up & are not showing even the slightest signs of wear. And they have never slipped off, not even once, which was also a problem with the yaktrax, I used to have to remember to check every 50 feet or so to make sure I hadn't left one in the snow. Ice Trekkers fit very tightly over the sole & actually some distance onto the instep, which makes them completely secure. There is only one design element that I would change: I do really appreciate the loop at the back that gives you something to grab onto when you are pulling them on. But I have actually found it easier to get these on (both the yaktrax and ice trekkers) by putting my heel down into the back & grabbing the front & pulling it up over the toe. This is actually easier to do with yaktrax. Ice Trekkers, if you are reading this, consider putting another loop at the front. But that is a small complaint considering the quality & that these look like they are going to last many seasons under extreme use. Five Stars.

PUTS MY FEET IN 4-WHEEL DRIVE!

*by E***Y on Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2013*

I used these for the first time today. They were very comfortable, and each step I took was solid and sure. They feel well made and built to last, unlike other models I've seen. I'm quite pleased with this purchase and am looking forward to fearless walks this winter.UPDATE: So I made it through the winter with these chains on my snow sneakers. I walked more than 90, less than 125 miles with them, mostly on snow and ice covered pavement. I didn't fall once, although I was almost run down my numerous mini (oblivious) vans, and accosted by a few dogs. Without them, I'm sure I wouldn't have ventured out as much as I did. Finally, a link broke in the top-most crossmember, up by my toes. This makes the unit unusable, (as directed) as the entire chain slips down towards my ankle. I'm thinking I MIGHT be able to get away with putting it on my shoe backwards though. It's worth a try. The other chain appears to be in good shape, so the worst case scenario is I'll just wear the one...Regardless, I still think this is a good product. I'm not sure how much more anyone could realistically expect, especially being on pavement most of the time. Eventually, everything wears out. I'm certain that I wouldn't have been as comfortable or safe with the "coiled" or "cleated" style products, and equally sure that neither would have lasted as long as these chains did. I'm pretty sure I'll be buying another set of these. They're well worth the money....I guess I need to add that these chains are for OUTDOOR USE! They can be slippery on floors!!! I'm not sure what those of you who have complained about this expect. It's like wearing downhill ski boots to a restaurant... expect to be a little uncomfortable, and to look like a fool. A little common sense comes in handy once in awhile. Come on people!

    Tire chains for your feet!

*by F***E on Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2012*

What a huge difference good traction makes! My husband also has a set of micro-spikes, but they become a liability when one crosses a threshold - whether it be into the car or a building. These ICETrekkers shoe chains go anywhere, and they provide great stability, even on the smoothest of ice, but they don't interfere with driving, walking on concrete or linoleum, etc. It really is like having tire chains for your feet. These are the easiest traction devices to get on and off that my husband has tried, he reports. They are VERY sturdy, well made, and reinforced exactly where they need to be. They FIT! They are sized very accurately and work well even on big boots - we found that we did not need to buy a larger size to fit a boot instead of a shoe - pretty smart! They fir shoes, too, though, and snugly enough to work very well. They are definitely not a menace to flooring like spikes; still, I wouldn't want them on my wood floors. Overall, these are the best of the overshoe traction devices yet - and my dear husband has now been through 6 different brands/iterations!
