I am not a teacher, but a piano player myself so I chose this book and the accompanying theory book because it is easy to understand and follow for an adult or child. My son is 11 years old and had no prior musical experience. I read through each lesson with him and used the theory book 1A noted for each lesson. Without much help, he was able to practice on our keyboard. Once he was proficient with one lesson, he would move on to the next.
