The challenges teens face today are tougher than at any time in history: academic stress, parent communication, media bombardment, dating drama, abuse, bullying, addictions, depression, and peer pressure, just to name a few. And, like it or not, the choices teens make while navigating these challenges can make or break their futures. In The 6 Most Important Decisions You’ll Ever Make , Sean Covey, author of the international bestseller The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens , gives teens the strong advice they need to make informed and wise decisions. Jam-packed with original cartoons, inspiring quotes, and fun quizzes, this innovative book will help teens not only survive but thrive during their teen years and beyond.

Review: Good advice for teens - I am really enjoying this book. I'm only through 3 chapters...so far I've read chapter 2- Friends, chapter 3- Parents, chapter 4- dating and sex. I skipped chapter one because I only wanted to skim through before I gave it to my 3 older children to read, but after starting to read it I couldn't put it down! I really wish I would've found this book when my oldest was 12 or 13 but I think, even though she is 17, it will still help her tremendously. I have really enjoyed the advice given by the author. I just finished reading the chapter on sex last night and He encourages young adults to raise the bar high! With great, solid advice as to how to raise the bar, why to raise the bar and how to keep the bar high. Raising the bar high means abstinence, maybe you feel someone talking about abstinence is outdated or not effective for teens after all what's the harm? I thought this was the best part of the book I had read thus far. He states several reasons why you should remain abstinent. Not only that but how to protect your "self". I am no saint and did just about anything when I was in High School and have paid the price in some form or the other. I was pregnant at 19 and married at 20. After a few years of being married the new wore off and reality set in. Talk about a wake up call. I grew up too fast and tried to recapture my youth at the age of 30 as a result. If I would have protected my "self", I truly believe my life would be very different. I wouldn't give up my life right now but I think I would've gotten to where I am now without so much pain and confusion. He also doesn't just say you should do this and shouldn't do that...He has very good reasons, facts, and well documented (with references to other books, authors, doctors, websites) information as to why you should or shouldn't do it. I also don't think he degrades anyone for the decisions they have made or will make. He has very few references to GOD which I was very impressed with. I don't particularly care for books that dictate "because the bible said so", to me this is not an answer for a teen. I truly believe that we can ingrain our ideas in our childs head but he will always take what he wants and form his own opinion on things. Therefore, we must put information that we feel is good in front of them so hopefully they will read it, take what they can from it and grow into successful adults. I can't wait to let my kids read this book and to see what they take from it. I will definatly be reposting after they read it.
Review: Excellent book to introduce to Preteens and have in the family library. - I bought this book prior to our daughter starting middle school. She is now in high-school. We have one amazing daughter. I Read this book prior to handing it off to our daughter. Just in case she had any questions. Her friends have borrowed the book and she has read it off and on throughout her high school years. My daughter has stated how this books makes more and more sense each time she reads it. This book speaks directly to the teenager. I also recommend it to family friends. A lot of life lessons that they can learn from someone else's perspective and experience. Basically saving themselves from a life of destruction. We have a son starting middle school in a few weeks. This book will be required reading. I prefer to introduce certain topics to our children instead of letting society and peer pressure totally control their thinking. I always keep resources such as this book around for my children to read, just in case they are embarrassed to talk to me or dad.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Happy to see my school require this!
*by K***C on January 22, 2014*

My 9th grade twins needed this for a required reading. I am only giving it four stars because I didn't see them "glued" to the book and reading it cover to cover. However, it has such great advice for kids and is written in their language. They happened to be reading it when my husband and I announced that we were divorcing, I found one of the boys laying in his bed reading it that night with a few tears in his eyes and it helped us start a conversation. I think it has helped them deal with what life brings.
