Magical Realism for Modern Times of War and Love
Once again the impossibly young Chaker Khazaal enthrals us with his own brand of magical realism. Taking his favourite characters from the first book of the trilogy "Confessions of a War Child", he weaves an intricate tale that pulls in harrowing themes of destruction, war and ultimately the triumph of the human spirt and love itself. Brooding cloud of sexual tension tension lingers in the air but doesn't overpower the senses. If you enyoyed "Confessions of a War Child" you will love the spotlight on the main character, Lia. If you have yet to enter Chaker's world, you have a delicious surprise in store. And like the stories of Gabriel Garcia Marquez that linger in the mind for years, "Confessions of a War a Child (Lia)" will become a welcome refuge when you need to be reassured that love conquers all.

This is a well-written book.
This book deserves 5 stars. It is probably one of the best novel I have read. This is an excellent novel and explores the refugees' feelings of where exactly they feel they belong. There is also a lot of good info on the refugees as he and the people around him experienced it. I recommend it for understanding the conflict, especially since it is a Palestinian voice (a voice rarely heard in the US).

An exciting tale of the truth that the greatest battle we as humans will ever have is with our self.
Two of the greatest mysteries of life are love and war. Neither one has a single definition of why or how they come about. In Confessions of a War Child (Lia), Chaker Khazzal tells a story that is the best humanly possible definition of both. Brilliantly written, the powerful realisms of war and destruction exists equally with the gentle tenderness of true love. Filled with life lessons for male, female, young and old this book is a must read for the seeker of triumph and those who believe that battles of our past must be conquered to be at peace with the present, the future and ultimately the hereafter.

A masterpiece.
I was one of the first people to order this book on Amazon and iBooks. I did not wish to leave Chaker's characters until I was done with the story. I did not wish to finish it because I got attached to each character. It kept me on the edge, and I felt every emotion portrayed in there. Love, hate, anger, danger, conspiracy.. Chaker Khazaal brings it all into one coherent, entertaining, funny and tragic story. This is a novel that deserves every award in literature, war, human rights, and romance. I am very proud of you Chaker Khazaal and wish to meet you one day. You have truly presented us with a master piece, Confessions of a War Child Lia.

a wonderful read... and brilliant addition to the sequel...!
I was blown away by the second edition of this wonderful trilogy. Chaker once again explores the emotions that come with love, war, sacrifice, consciousness and long-term suffering... this time going into more depth. Whilst there is no reference to current-day events you can feel some of the powerful parallels and conclusions he is drawing. The depth and thought that has gone into some of the philosophical elements of this book are astounding and Chaker's writings are mature, entertaining & thought-provoking. I strongly recommend this book ( and the first one too!) .

Chaker Khazaal, you are the writer that this century will remember.
I read the first part of this trilogy and I fell in love with every character and event. Tonight I downloaded the Lia story and I could not put it down until I finished reading. This writer has become my favorite, and I am a strong believer that this trilogy will one day become the story of this century. I laughed, I cried, I got anxious, and I experienced every human feeling while going from one page to another. Chaker Khazaal, you are the writer that this century will remember.

Simplicity is the way
Chaker's writings prove that age is just a number, and that being wise is a blessing. Sentences that reflect the writer's depth of thought and analysis decorate the book from the first page till the last one, not to forget his ability to take one into a journey where characters, territories, feelings, and sounds are seen and heard through simple words. This piece of work proves that simplicity is the way to convey complicated messages.Great job ChakerWaiting for your third book!
