I recently bought a 1967 MGB. I had my mechanic go over it part by part and make numerous replacements and upgrades. A day after I brought the car home it would not start. The mechanic had a number of ideas, but, ultimately, I was going to have to get the car back to him. This would be an ordeal because, well, the car would not start.One of my first purchases when I brought the car home was the Haynes manual for the MGB. I used to always get a Haynes manual when I owned cars in the 80's. You could still fix most problems without a lift and special equipment then. The Haynes manual arrived in the morning. I read the chapter on starter motors and had the car running in about 2 hours. The manual walked me through the steps to diagnose the problem and, once I knew what it was, how to repair it.Fortunately, this was a relatively easy fix. But I'd still be tearing my hair out trying to diagnose the problem with YouTube videos and random suggestions from people with "helpful" suggestions involving crystals and checking tire pressure without a well-written and serious manual Haynes wrote.

Keep the Haynes manual stashed in the boot/trunk of your MG - and let your mechanic know it's there. Odds are a few fresh fingerprints will be scattered among the pages after each servicing. British specialty shops have become far less common than they were a generation ago. Today, it's increasingly likely your MG was born before your mechanic was. If there's something the mechanic needs to check, best to have them go to THE SOURCE. A useful reference and how-to repair manual. Haynes manuals have always been helpful for me in the past.The downside is that it is a cheap reprint. The paper is thin un-coated newspaper type paper. As a result the photos aren't really clear, but the line drawings are sharp. I'm sure that when used while working on the car, the paper will absorb grease and stains like a sponge. I would not call this a "go-to manual" but useful in conjunction with a factory manual and internet research.

Reprint of the old school Haynes manual. Soft cover. Still based on a full strip down and rebuild! Nice to have handy even with YouTube around.

Para los que acostumbramos tener todo impreso, es el típico manual que requerimos.Misma edición de hace muchos años, quizás sería conveniente que el editor la actualizara, pero tratandose de autos en desuso es posible que no haya interés.Gracias, obtuve lo que pagué.

Documentation complète pour tous les modéles de MGB, beaucoup de schémas techniques étant très utile pour réparer sa mg ou la restaurer, attention le bouquin est en anglais. Je le recommande fortement, c'est le minimum à avoir lorsqu'on a une mgb !!!!!!!!!!!!
