Boraam Zebra Series Halmstad Coffee Table, Rich Walnut

I loved the table, the design , color, easy to assembled, sturdiness, but unfortunately it is easy to scratch and lose the color.

I was looking for a table that would be versatile with the layout of my nyc apt and go with the antique Scandinavian furniture that I spent years collecting from auctions. Its really hard to find original period coffee tables in like-new condition. They usually have scratches or stains from parties of yesteryear. I bought this product because I love the design and according to the specs the dimensions were perfect and the heavy weight made me assume that its structurally stable and that its multi colored and in my experience the pictures on websites of furniture are rarely accurate and its a dice throw. Because I have dark mahogany pieces in my living room and reddish walnut pieces in my bedroom, my thought was this would be perfect since the dark lines would go with the dark furniture and the primary reddish walnut color would match my bedroom furniture. put the table in both locations and try it out and place it where it matched best. If it worked better in the bedroom then I could use it next to the bed as a console for my AV gear.The bluray player would fit in one of the slots and the home theater PC (HTPC) would fit in the other and I could put my books and reading lamp on top just in case the table didn't look right in the living room. The table is gorgeous. Its heavy and doesn't reflect what I paid. Someone was complaining that the description said natural wood veneer and that the wood grain was screened on. That is not the case. The grain is embossed in the veneer. Maybe they took a machine and burned the stripes into the veneer but its not a silkscreen. I went to art school and know what a silkscreen looks like. The table looks amazing and I took it out of the box to examine it for damage and was so relieved when I opened the side and saw all the packing material. (foam and corrugated cardboard on the corners, double walled and extra sheets of foam surrounding the table but I guess that wasn't enough. I flipped the box upside down vertically to slide the table out carefully and removed the packing foam and cardboard and from every angle it looked perfectly in tact and I was so excited that it made it here without any damage but I put the table on the rug right side up and to my disappointment there was a F@^&KING gouge in the top of the table the size of a dime!!! I checked the box to see if it was amazon's fault or the courier. In my case it was FEDEX HOME and sure enough there was a huge puncture in the corner of the front of the box exactly where the damage in the top of the table is. I ended up gathering all the packing material, my tape and some extra cardboard to pack it the way the MANUFACTURER should have in the first place. I am not blaming Fedex or amazon.com. I am blaming the guy who oversees production in the sweatshop in Vietnam where it was made. He should've been clearer that the world is changing and things don't just need to survive in a shipping container and then to a warehouse to all be trucked to a single location for a retail store and that's the end. Not today. that the way products are packaged must stand up to the chaos and volume of domestic shipping logistics companies once they make it to the warehouse there is so much more they must go through. They still need to get sorted and put on planes and trucks to another distribution hub and then offloaded and reloaded and trucked again and then again and then finally get loaded onto a local truck to be distributed again down the deliver foodchain to be consolidated and routed and reloaded onto the actual truck the UPS or FEDEX or USPS (sorry DHL) comes to your delivery location with. Then the courier has to get it off the truck in the 90F heat and is probably tired from drinking all night because their life sucks and gets paid crap for delivering everyone's stuff they lazily purchased with a few clicks of a mouse and is wondering why the hell they work so hard and wish they could get all these boxes they work their hooves to the wool for. NYC traffic, is another thing. The last thing I would want to do after spending 30 minutes at a stop light or at a standstill on i95 or BQE is have to unload a 70lb box and schlep it onto a cart and carry it up a 5 floor walkup or elevator then to carry it back down and reload it onto the truck because the recipient is not home. If it was me that 70lb box would be in the east river or kicked down of flight of stairs. I wouldn't care if it was a Van Gogh painting or the Ark Of The Covenant. To me it would just be a heavy box and I would just be happy to get it out of my life. For this reason I know every courier who delivers to me. I offer them a cold drink or ask if they are hungry or need to use the bathroom. I know how hard they work and I don't blame them if the box is ripped and things come damaged. I blame the guy who oversees the packing of the products and the designers at the box manufacturers. Think of all the sweat and labor of making this damn table. think about the little details in the wood grain and the holes and inserts have to be aligned and drilled properly then packaged and shipped and trucked and off loaded and trucked and shipped across around the world then unloaded and repacked and trucked and trucked and trucked not to mention all the above. Then you get it and its damaged and needs to be repacked and picked up or needs to put it in the car and driven to a place to be picked up by the courier. Think about all the time and money and natural resources and the impact it has on the environment and think about the people that made it all happen. All the traffic and frustration and how it must impact their well being physically and mentally. Think of how easy you could prevent all this from happening by putting thick sheets of foam or double walled cardboard inserts on the actual edge of the table surface. Or better yet a piece of thin plastic like strong box I ship artwork in. Sooner or later these companies are going to get sick of losing huge accounts like amazon or reading reviews like mine and are going to have to realize that the methods, materials and designs of their packaging is even more important than the actual products they make. If I have to pay extra for a product so it's packed correctly and arrives to me intact and not have to repack it and wast my time and sweat after working all day so I could afford to buy it in the first place then have to get an RMA and make a label to ship it back to amazon where it is eventually thrown in a landfill I would gladly pay the extra costs of some extra cardboard and some foam or bubble wrap. If that isn't possible then amazon needs to add a button to this website for products that arrived damaged do to inadequate packing design and packing material, put them in a database of things that keep coming back damaged and then on the new orders put a code in the warehouse that says this item is packed really badly and its going to come back to us so you must reinforce the box before you send it out! I want you to write your name on this box you packed so if it comes back damaged we know to get rid of you because you wasted a ton of peoples time and money and added to negative environment footprint of the world and probably contributed to more problems than you can imagine.I will not be ordering this table again not because its bad. Its beautiful and heavy and perfect for what I wanted it for but I am not 100% confident that its replacement will arrive in perfect condition.

One of the legs completely broke where it attaches to the table. We’ve only had it set up for a couple of months. It wasn’t very stable to begin with so we were just extra careful with it and still it broke. Incredibly cheap. Don’t waste your money.

Table is larger than I thought it would be but it’s perfect. Easy to assemble. Sturdy and heavy! We get so many compliments on it

The table arrived this morning, and I thought I should post this immediately. The site's photos don't make it obvious, but the zebra stripes of the wood are VERY prominent (see photos). If this had been made obvious, I probably would have picked a different coffee table.My purchase also arrived with a few small scratches and a smudge of glue (see photo) - I can't tell yet if the finish is marred where the smudge of glue is, or if it's just a surface smudge that will wipe off. The finish being marred would definitely be a deal-breaker.Other than what I mentioned above, the table seems quite solid with no major construction flaws. It does not feel or seem cheaply made: it is heavy and sturdy. For the price ($190 with free Prime shipping), it is a good value, if you like or don't mind the pronounced zebra stripes.The table is also a bit high for a coffee table, but I think it may be a good height for using a laptop on it, rather than putting (heaven forbid) your feet up on it.The color is warm and rich looking, again surprising for the price.My next purchase was going to be the matching end-table, but I think I'll go with a different style/product for the end-table, just because of the pronounced zebra stripes.I gave this purchase three stars for these reasons.

I really like the warm wood color, the sturdiness of the real wood, and the mid-century style. It was easy to assemble and it looks great in our living room. After seeing some negative reviews about shipping damage and the color, I wasn't sure what to expect, but for less than $200 it was worth taking a chance. It's exactly the table we were hoping for! It is a little big compared to most coffee tables, but if you're putting it in a big room it works. Definitely a great deal for a stylish piece of furniture.

from a distance, this table looks OK. But the lines, which are supposed to be the grain of the wood, are so clearly drawn that it’s pretty funny looking. Also, it is very tall, So not comfortable to put your feet up on.

Good instructions, easy to put together. Took less than 30 minutes. Arrived ahead of schedule. Great customer service from the manufacturer! One piece was damaged and I received a new piece in 5 days which included a Sunday and a holiday! Highly recommend.

I really like this table. I purchased it a year ago. It was easy to assemble and is a solid piece of furniture for the money.The only notable thing is that after a year the paint is starting to chip off along the edges of the table. It isn't horrible, but definitely something to keep in mind. I don't mind it as I think it adds some character. Very functional for my family with the opening shelf space for additional storage.I live in a condo and it fits perfectly in my small open concept space. Not too large. I think the colour is a bit off as well. But I much prefer the colour it arrived as over the picture.

Another Boraam Zebra Series, to match my two end tables! Really stunning contemporary furniture. Larger than anticipated, but still fits, and I love it! It does not fit a small apartment.
