Movo WS100 Professional Windscreen with Acoustic Foam Technology for Shotgun Microphones up to 8cm Long (Fits Azden SGM-PDII, SMX 10, ECZ-990)

The Movo WS100 may not be quite as good as a new deadcat from a major manufacturer for a ton more money, but it is worth a lot more than the cost and it works quite well.I needed to handle some wind with a pair of small condensers and wasn't looking for anything special. Was pleasantly surprised by these. There is an open cell foam body inside instead of just having the fur right on the microphone, and the rubber port on the back is secure with common pencil mic diameters. The fur itself is a little weak looking compared to premium windscreens, and it loses a few hairs here and there, which is a bit odd. I am just trying to avoid fiddling with them too much and we'll see how that goes. So far so good. Performs great in wind. Even significant wind. Completely blows away foam windscreens. Handles plosives for speech well too, and the sound is not muffled either. Be sure to choose a version long enough so the rubber back part is not up against the actual microphone inlet ports. Reflections off the rubber portion color the sound noticeably when the windscreen is not fully seated.In recordings it is difficult or impossible to tell if the windscreen is being used, especially if you haven't heard a reference to compare to. If you have a decent sounding condenser mic and even a remotely windy situation, this thing could save your day.

Cuts wind like a boss. I needed a dead cat for my Rode Videomic NTG, I should have gotten the next size up, but this does the trick. I have been in close to 20kt winds on an airfield, and it cut the distortion completely!!

Great for all of my pencil condenser mics. So nice, I ordered it twice.

So I bought a deity v-mic d3 recently and its a sounds amazing, but they only included a foam cover and a fur cover(without foam inside) which doesn't work great at all on even slight breezes, and there is no way of cramming that foam cover into the fur cover... I tried..... so I guessed the size and bought the 8cm Movo windscreen and it fits perfectly and works great, it blocked more wind noise than my rode mic with its really good(included) fur/foam windscreen, I was at the lake right before a storm rolled in and there was heavy winds, I could hear the wind hitting the mic but it wasn't clipping the audio, I could still hear everything I was saying perfectly, so that's more than good enough for me.

I used this for a diff purpose and a diff mic set up , but worked for what I wanted ( had to cut it up for what I wanted) but I’m sure it would do for what it’s intended, well made

La Bonnette anit-Vent Professionnelle Movo WS100 est une bonne protection contre le vent, je suis satisfait de mon achat pour plusieurs raisons :(a) la petite taille qui convient pour des micros semi-cardioides.(b) la mousse alvéolée à l'intérieur qui permet de ne pas étouffer le son(c) la protection dead cat qui lutte très bien contre le ventLe seul défaut est que les poils de la dead cat sont assez courts je trouve, et on tendance à rester "plaqués" sur la protection, il faut sortir la brosse et ébouriffer la dead cat pour augmenter son efficacité !Si mon commentaire vous a été utile, n'hésitez pas à cliquer sur le bouton "Utile" !

I am pleased with my purchase. I did some basic outdoor tests and worked well. The build was good for the price. I have to say it was much longer than it appears in the photo, and this is the only reason I did not give the full 5 star rating. Fortunately, it was still usable for me. I wanted something shorter as my mic is a pencil condenser and therefore is relatively short, as compared to a shotgun. Ideally I would have my shock mount well balanced in the centre of the mic tube, and the windshield on the end where the mic capsal is, but by pushing to shock mount as far back as possible I was just about able to accommodate the length of the windshield. Not as balanced as it could be, but it works fine.

The media could not be loaded. I ordered the Movo WS100 Professional Windscreen with Acoustic Foam Technology for Shotgun Microphones, however I found that there is still wind noise present when you use this for recording in a relatively light wind as can be heard in the video.So I have not choice but to state that this is 'Not Fit for purpose'.
