After looking at many types of glass cutter I settled on this one as I wanted to cut both square and round bottles. This does both but does take a bit of fiddling to get it set up right before cutting.I found the end bracket and rollers to be very stiff to slide along the groove in the base plate. As in another review, I found the paint is too thick to allow free movement. So a little filing of the makes it much easier to slide and make finer adjustments.

This is a well constructed item that should last, but it is not without issues, that I will outline below.It cuts glass quite well, but in order to get good consistent results you will need to go through quite a few test pieces to get the best technique needed right.Pros:All metal constructionNylon rollersSturdyGood accessoriesCons:1. The paint coating is very thick which makes it very hard/impossible to move the sliders without undoing them totally, so tiny adjustments are very difficult to achieve2. Cutting wheel difficult to set at the correct angle3. Can be flimsy if applying too much pressure4. Very hard to get a clean cut, without a spurSuggestions:1. Before using for the first time, scrape off the paint in the centre channel. This will allow you to slide the bracket without having to undo the screw fully, making it much easier to do tiny adjustments2. Use a marker pen on the cutting wheel to show where the blades should be when you get a good cutThis is one of the best bottle cutters available on the market currently.

Nice product easy to use and cuts glass cleanly

A well built product, possibly too well built as the centre rail is so tight that the brackets won't slide to allow ajustment. They have to be turned at 45degs to move and to do this the screw has to be completely removed 1st!All the practice bottles I've done so far haven't split perfectly but left have a small spur which annoyingly has been on the part I want to keep! Hopefully practice makes perfect!

Great device, perfected the cutting bottle after just 2 practice attempts. A good price, sturdy, and an excellent service and pricing from the vendor. :)

Updated 26/05/20After many hours, and over 40 bottles I've finally thrown this pile of cr@p into the bin. I managed to get 1 acceptable cut. All bottles were identical so I tried minor tweaks but never got it to work, hence I have down graded my original 3 stars to 1,as I did get 1 acceptable cut. Now looking for a product that works.Original review : As with quite a lot of this sort of thing, it is never as easy as they make it look. I've still not managed to get the two parts to separate even though I've got a perfectly round etched line. I've tried using a candle and ice and hot/cold water as described in the instructions. 6 bottles down so far. I'm guessing that I'm going to get through a lot of bottles before I actually get it to work.Can find anything good to say about it so far but I will come back here if I do. The bad thing is that it is really hard to slide the guides backwards and forwards, in fact the only way that I've found to do it is to completely dismantle them.

Have cut a few bottles with this, often with complete success but also often with a small dog ear chip in the rim probably due to my technique. Pleased with unlimited supply of new vases!

Rubber Bands snapped on the third time using it.Basic package I advise looking around betwr than I did. As I would categories this as Not being value for money when looking at other options. I stupidly bought this because of the rating and reviews.I have bought a second cutter due to this being fairly useless.

The product is sturdy and does an excellent job. I have only used it on round bottles so far.
