Best of Jack Bruce

GreetingsI have been playing bass since 1968, I still have that 2nd beauty bass I bought then, so needless to say I have seen many concerts, watched many videos and played many Many songs.Although most songs I can pickup and play by ear, The Best Of JACK BRUCE is a great compilation of bass tabs and helpful to most everyone. I myself discovered I was playing a wrong note in N.S.U. Now if I had written NSU I could play what I choose, but in my attempts to be note perfect...This Book is as I sed is Inexpensive Goldand a great addition to anyone's music library.Thank You Jack from the man in the front row.

A gift

As a bass player who was inspired by Jack's playing and writing from an early age, I was surprised by uniqueness of the bass lines here. Many of Jack's songs that I had been playing over the years have different bass lines than I was actually playing! Well, I could never be Jack anyway. Who could?

So sad Jack has left us, and happy to have this book of his great bass lines. Wish a few more songs were in it, but otherwise fabulous stuff from one of the greatest!!!

Geez, where's "Crossroads?" I mean, really? That's one of the songs the publisher thought, "Eh, let's give 'em one of Jack's solo songs instead of one of the greatest bass lines ever recorded."What's there is good, but wow, there's so much missing! Honestly, I wouldn't buy it again. It's my own fault for not checking exactly what songs were included, but I just assumed I'd get the tab for classics like "Crossroads," "Spoonful," "Born Under a Bad Sign," "Strange Brew", "Tales of Brave Ulysses", "Badge"...nope! You DO get the tab to a song I'd never heard of called "Never Tell Your Mother She's Out of Tune," and after hearing it, I now know why I'd never heard it before. Sorry Jack Bruce fans (of whom I'm one), this does not represent the BEST of Mr. Bruce's outstanding/revolutionary bass playing.

It's about time there were some bass tabs from one of the greatest bass players. Visit Jack at his website for lyrics to the songs of Cream and Beyond.

Jack Bruce is such a consummate bass player that this does not do him justice.I am always suspicious of tab books which do not include a CD playing the transcription.There is considerable scope for a better book which includes a CD or DVD.Memo to Alfred: You have started including CD's with your latest transcriptions (e.g., Led Zepplin). Please make it a priority to rework this set of song!

I initially got this for kindle - not very good despite being on my pc. The hard copy is excellent and it is that version that got the 5 stars. Would have liked to see more cream in the contnet but what is in there is good
