Works incredibly well when installed per the instructions
I now have had time to test this and it has reduced the dust coming into the bed via the tailgate by 99%. The key is following the instructions and particularly the bulb edge test. Mine ended up being Bulb edge down. I read mixed reviews with trouble shutting the tail gate after install. Looking at the pictures for my make and model and I can see they were installed it incorrectly. I also used a light to make sure I got a very complete seal. With mine I am using tonneau cover I did both the bottom edge and 90% up the side edges of the tail gate frame. In the end I only wish i had done this sooner it does exactly as I needed.

Works w standard ram tailgate
This product worked perfect for my 2017 ram 1500 standard tail gate . Had it installed in 20 minutes super easy . 100% sealed from moisture and dust . Pre fit a small piece first to verify location left / right to fill in gap then install . Larger pieces used for upper corners cut to fit . I also cut small pieces for minor gap at bottom of tailgate . Highly recommend - ps glue is very strong

Goes on easy, seals the gap.
I put this on a 2018 F-150. There was enough with about 8" leftover. Online instructions were very good showing photos of where to put it. My bed liner is a Weathertech; very low profile/thin. Had to trim a bit off the tailgate liner to get piece that sticks to the tailgate to stick. Which reminds me, adhesion isn't all that you would think it should be. Duct tape will literally pull the paint off your truck. This stuff isn't as sticky as that. I was able to pull it back off in a couple spots to correct mistakes, even after pressing in place very firmly. There are a couple spots on the Ford where the stripping doesn't completely seal the gap. In those spots the instructions show you put the strip on the side of the bed with the bulbous side toward inside, then put a piece, instructions suggest a length, on the tailgate facing the other way. The two bulbs seal against each other. I'll have to wait and see how the pieces on the tailgate hold up. Strikes me every time I drag something across there it will tend to knock the tailgate pieces off. We'll see. Instructions say the piece along the bottom is supposed to be even with the floor of the bed. If you do that the stickum will be half on and half off where the floor is bent over the facing (space btw tailgate and bed). I installed this one so the stickum was flush to the bottom of the bed piece, fully on the facing. It ended up about 3/8" below the floor. Closing it this seems to seal just fine and hopefully it will stick better than straddling the two pieces. Closing the tailgate is a bit stiffer requiring a determined effort; to be expected. Hoping that will conform to shape after being closed for a while. Helpful tools were heavy duty and sharp scissors, a silver Sharpie, and measuring tape or ruler. The suggested measurements are very close, however in one case I cut the two pieces 2.75", then ended up taking them back off and making them 3.5". Measure twice, cut once!

It does what it's supposed to
Let me get my first and only complaint out of the way early, the directions are instructions showing how to install this on a Gen 5 Ram 1500 pickup truck? They suck, they are absurd, it took a whole lot of thinking and double guessing to get it all figured out. If they provided great written instructions with good pictures showing how to correctly or properly install this onto my pickup, there would be zero complaints and total elation. Now that the seal kit has been installed, I couldn't be happier, I went through the car wash four different times in a row because I have an unlimited membership, do you know not even a drop of water got through the tailgate and into the bed of the truck. That was the first test. The biggest test was yet to come, I drive down the dustiest roads anyone has ever seen fairly regularly, the 5th gen Ram 1500 is notorious for gaps and large leaky spaces all around the tailgate against the bed of the truck. For some reason this pickup truck was designed with absolutely no seals of any kind between the tailgate and the bed of the truck. After installing this seal kit, it works much better than advertised, as far as I'm concerned it's more than I wanted, I drove down those Dusty roads just the other day, and there was no dust in the bed of my pickup truck. Before I installed this seal kit, just one short drive down a Dusty road? And my entire bed of my truck would become filled with dust. All surfaces inside the bed of the truck would become covered in dust. Including anything that I was carrying back there. You talk about a big mess and what a pain in the butt. I'm very happy I made this purchase, I do wish the instructions were what they should be

functional strip, a but too narrow for all applications
Installed this on my F150 to seal up the tailgate. First few days were fine and worked well with rain to keep items dry in the back of the truck. After I went to the car wash I found all the holes. While there were not a ton of them the issue I have is even with two strips I was not able to seal the sides of the tailgate with enough to stop the spray from getting in. Fast forward to 3 months and having firewood loaded. While sweeping out the bed many smaller pieces fell between the strip and the adhesive and ruined it. I now have a seal that is hanging down and out the back of the tailgate. I don't believe mounting the seal upside down would work either though it would likely increase the time that the tape held I think it just may not be in the cards without a better sealant. I removes stars for weak attachment tape (I washed car and used alcohol pads but it did no good). I also removed a start because no matter the placement I was not able to stop car wash spray from getting in on tailgate sides. It held it at bay somewhat, but not enough to store anything of value near the tailgate.

Does what it promises.
Learned of this product in a YouTube video. Followed general directions, and the stripping is adhering well and doing what it promises to do, which is seal up the seams that are designed into my pickup's tailgate. The gate was never meant to be air or water tight (in fact with water, probably the opposite) but this does indeed help seal the inside from the elements. Unfortunately, specific instructions for my (older) make and model were not readily available. However, by looking at instructions for other model installs and applying a bit of common sense as to placement that formed a seal yet did not hamper operation, was able to adapt for my vehicle. So far, very pleased with the results obtained. Gate closes nicely and no water, little air flow through those seams. Much more civil (with my topper) in the back for the occasional rest stop nap. Definitely to me worth the few dollars and fifteen to twenty minutes of fiddling required.

Strong, easy install
Got this first a camper on my truck to stop the dust. And its really great. Has a strong tape and easy to install. Worked so great i showed a family member and they liked it that I had to buy them one. And they love it. Worth it.

Sealed tailgate
So far, it's great! When tailgate and camper shell are closed no outside light is visible in location of seal placement. Hasn't been taken out on any dirt roads or been in any rainstorms as yet. Written instructions, see photos, helped immensely. Even with these there are some minor adjustments needed. As long as you follow the guideline of not applying too much pressure immediately, these are easily done. Time will tell how durable the seal will be. Specifically on the bottom of the truck bed. If you look at pictures you can see the ridge and you have to place the seal below it. I can already see that the friction of opening and closing could be an issue. The fit good if you take your time to measure and cut. Again, following the instructions. The adhesive is solid once you finish placement, adjustments and then applying the appropriate pressure.

it works BUT
good quality rubber seal with 3m tape. NOW... the gap between the tailgate and the box is only about an eighth of an inch when closed so depending on where you place the seal on the tailgate it could either be to close or to far from the inside of the box when you close the tailgate. i got lucky on one side for a perfect fit but the other side bearly touches when the tailgate is closed. when i tried to peel that seal back i saw the paint start to lift so i put it back down and left it as is. it is still better than no seal at all. there is more than enough leftover seal to do my second truck.

Hope it works.
Have not got the pickup yet, getting things ready for when it is here. Done some research and they say this profile is good. I do hope so as I need a totally dry pickup bed.
