BuildTakBT12X12-3PK 3D Printing Build Surface, 12" x 12" Square, Black (Pack of 3)

First I am not a paid reviewer. This thing works great! I read the reviews and there were a few people that couldn't seem to get them to work it seems, but not me. I put this on a not ideal surface to see how it worked. If it didn't work I didn't want to screw up a good print plate and PEI. The plate I put it on had some damage on the PEI so not even a totally smooth surface. These are so think and well made, not only could I not see the bad areas on the plate, couldn't feel the bad areas through the BuildTak, but it stuck like a champ! I can see how it may be a bit of a pain to get this thing off but so is PEI. It was just a little bigger than my plate but easy to trim.Now to printing....I used PLA, HTPLA, ABS and PETG (Which is not easy to get to adhere). Everything stuck. No more glue, tape or any of that. That being said, when I say it stuck...it stuck! You do need something to get it off of the plate. I used the butter knife thing that came with my printers. They do sell a printing spatula or something but I haven't tried that. Anyway, this thing works and I would buy it again.

I used this for printing with polycarbonate. It seems to adhere well, without the need for anything external adhesives, but you do need to be careful about the starting z height/bed levelling. If the nozzle is too close to the surface, the material can fuse to the surface, making it impossible to remove without damage. I would recommend doing a bit of self testing yourself to really fine-tune the ideal height for your machine/extrusion settings. If you do get fusing and damage one of the surfaces, don't immediately replace it, keep testing on the undamaged areas to really dial in the optimal starting height. Not sure if this was just a PC issue, or if PLA would have the same problems as I started with PC, and once I got the settings for that, it worked fine with PLA as well.The only other material I tried to use it with was PVA, and despite all efforts, I was unable to get good adhesion with it despite my best efforts.In comparison to a regular glass bed, I would say it's better for PC, worse for PVA, and seems to be equivalent for PLA.

This stuff works great. It worked better than the original stuff on my Z18. I had been using painters tape which worked well but this is the good stuff. I peel off my print and I can start printing again. I do suggest using a squeegee or a roller as you peel off the backing and attach to print plate. This will help to avoid air bubbles from forming. At the time of purchase the price was reasonable.

Holds prints well enough but is super flimsy and easy to pull away from the printing bed during printing. I advise plenty of clamps when using it but it has a good texture that holds the prints.

An excellent choice to make printing easy. No tapes, no sprays, no adhesive: using BuildTak means printing a new part is literally as easy as clicking Print from File on my printer and waiting, and when it's done I pop that part off and am instantly ready to print something else. I've tried lots of other products, and I've never seen anything that makes printing this manageable. Adhesion is phenomenal, and yet when done a flexible scraper lets parts pop right off.I've been using this product for over a year now, and am still on the very first sheet I placed on my printer (a creality cr-10, printing PLA on a heated bed). The only damage I've seen on the sheet after all this time is one I induced, having calibrated my printer head too low (after swapping out a laser head and putting the 3D print head back on). That left a thin furrow on the BuildTak before I stopped it--but even so, the sheet continues to print PLA perfectly.Cannot recommend highly enough.

These surfaces work wonderfully in terms of getting the first layers to stick. I was able to print an upright cylinder, 1" dia by 13" tall, before the first layer separated which is more than enough for just about anything. Just make sure you evenly apply the BuildTak to your printing bed without any air gaps, as that will cause a variation in the Z-height. Only downfall is that your extruder will ruined the surface of the BuildTak if it makes contact-- re-level after any major adjustments.

I had several problems printing ABS on bare glass. But with buildtak, it becomes easy! The only thing is that you need to set the printing parameters adequately, otherwise your part can stick to the bed too much and you will damage the buildtak sheet trying to remove the part. I had also a small zone (1" x 1") where the adherence was not as good. But it's worth the money if you have problems with ABS.

Product has amazing adhesion out of the box. But watch out printing to close because it will absolutely lock into the sheet " I went against included instructions" because i needed gauranteed adhesion. Will by again.

Ich hab mittlerweile ein paar Federstahlbleche, bei dem die originale PEI Beschichtung blasen wirft und war auf der Suche nach einem Ersatz für die Beschichtung.Nach entfernen der alten Beschichtung und Kleber hab ich diese neuen aufgeklebt und getest, die Haftung ist super, fasst schon zu gut, bei anderen PEI Platten/Beschichtungen musste ich bisher immer leicht anschleifen, damit es vernünftig haftet, dies haftet direkt ohne "aufarbeitung".Getested mit ASA und ABS Filamenten.

Indispensabili per stampare senza stress. Perfetta adesione dei pezzi. L'unico piccolo problema è che non hanno vita lunga. Dopo 20/25 stampate cominciano a perdere la rugosità necessaria per fare aderire i pezzi.

Amazing!!! Turned my old 3D printer into a useful printer again :)

easy to install holds prints in place fast. prints are a little hard to remove from surface but that is remedied but heating the print bed to 50/ 60 degree c after the printing is complete and using a paint scraper.
