Tarot to Go! (Mini Book and Card Set) Hardcover – September 1, 2002

I've Done Tarot for over thirty years I'm picky about deck,this set came with a nice hardcover book and a good sized deck of card's. I bought this as I recently moved and it seems my deck was packed in storage. Great price,great deck and shipped fast what's not to like!10++

As I posted in my review for the full-size deck (Amazon ASIN 0880790792), this is the closest I've ever come to that one deck that speaks to me. Even though that version of the deck is smaller than most traditional tarot decks, I'm beyond thrilled to have this. I have arthritis, and this version will work a little better for (re-)learning tarot (see my other review). There is a larger version gift set, that includes the same hardcover book (Amazon ASIN 0880882484). I chose the slightly more expensive version because I don't need another (larger?) copy of this book. It's a nice, but basic primer for learning tarot. The other item also allowed me to get a copy of the official "little white book" (LWB) for the deck. Although, I did spring for a Kindle copy of this book for a whopping 99¢ (Amazon ASIN B005WJ64MC)--just in case I want to refer to it. I'm so happy that I stumbled across this little beauty here at Amazon. I may actually follow through with reacquainting myself with tarot--now that I have this deck back--and in an even better size (see other review)! I'm looking forward to studying tarot with this, in conjunction with other Rider-Waite-based books that I own (again, see other review).Edit: I'm editing this review to add a comparison picture showing a standard US Games Rider-Waite deck (ISBN 091386613X), this deck, the larger version of this deck (Amazon ASIN 0880790792) , the Radiant Rider-Waite deck (that comes in a lovely tin, ISBN 1572818034 ), plus The Tiny Tarot (ISBN 1572811226). Sometimes seeing helps make purchases easier.

So I know people have complained about the poor quality of card stock of this deck. Me, I love it. I have tiny hands and these cards are a perfect size. The thickness (or lack of it as some have decided) of the cards make these a dream to shuffle. Yes, they probably won’t hold up as well as thicker decks. But honestly, I have never yet had to replace a deck due to cards becoming so worn they were no longer usable. In fact, that would be a plus for me because I would use them for other artistic projects. Besides, the price can’t be beat. I might have to get a new deck sooner than later but that is not much of a problem with this economical little deck. I have gone on and on about cardstock without discussing the artwork on the cards and the little book that is included. Let me remedy that. The art is FANTASTIC! It follows Rider Waite Smith. A bit of a closer up view than Pixie’s deck. Also, for me, there is a lot more to read in the facial features of the characters in the cards. It is a classic deck and the little book that comes along with this cute little mini deck is great!! So much better than most LWBs.

Love this little deck and so do my little hands. Pocket size, but slightly bigger than my other pocket sized deck. Just right of good quality and wonder illustration. Would buy again. Great gift with very nice hardcover, little booklet.

A little back story I have the original full size deck it’s about the size of a deck of playing cards and I received it 20yrs ago. That deck is still in good condition but I saw this little set and got the feels all over again. For the $5 it’s listed at I just picked them up. I started following The_Enchanted_Web on Instagram and was inspired to get back into reading tarot myself and originally looked for just a small pocket sized tarot meaning book to flip through and found this set. How perfect is it that it’s from one of my very first decks!I love that the book has the card images and the basic meanings are not too small so I can read them without straining!The only reason this gets 4 stars is because the box they come in feels like better card stock than the cards do.I like the size of the cards and the illustrations still do it for me. I’m just now getting back to reading tarot cards so this is a great set for me especially with my personal history and attachment to the full size deck.I also like that this is a bit bigger than the mini deck of RWS cards I have.

I have been studying tarot for a while, and my teen daughter started to show an interest, too. Since teens can be finnicky, I didn't want to spend too much on a deck for her. So I purchased this low-cost set to be a part of her Easter basket gifts this year. She loved it! And for under five bucks, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this set! The cards are smaller, but definitely not tiny, about the size of a credit card. The imagery is crisp, and the card stock is a good quality. The overall box set presentation is really high quality, nice book too! It was a good set to give as a gift, I definitely recommend it as a nice little gift for anyone who wants to give tarot as a present. The artwork is Mary Hanson-Roberts, so not a classic Rider-Waite deck (the best for learning, IMHO), but her artwork parodies Rider-Waite closely enough to be a good deck for a beginner. GREAT deal, you really can't ask for more for five bucks! :-D
