A Coach's Life: My 40 Years in College Basketball

This is a very straightforward autobiography of Coach Dean smith, the legendary UNC basketball coach. The book deals in depth from his earliest start until his departure and life after retirement. Anyone who is a serious University of North Carolina basketball fan must have this as it is a must read. One understands how revered Smith is not just as a basketball coach but as a human being. There are many life lessons in this book.

Time only makes this book better from this master teacher and coach. Only one person could keep MJ under 20 it’s and that was Coach Smith. More significant is his legacy as a teacher and leader. More timely than ever and written in an easy, engaging style mirroring Coach’s humility and decency.

Solid book by a great coach and a rock-solid person. The book is not without its faults, similar to the coach himself, but on the whole one comes away with a terrific sense of Dean Smith and why he stood at the top of his profession.

I would consider it a biography as it covers more than his 40 coaching years. Not complaining though because it was all interesting!

coach Smith was the greatest coach EVER! I am from North Carolina and grew up a Hugh basketball fan. For me there was no team but theTar Heels! I am very saddened by his death. We lost the greatest College Basketball coach who ever lived.

My husband's favorite coaches. He really wanted this book and purchased it both online as well as receiving this paperback.

This narrator is my favorite of all time and a book about anyone Micheal Jordan considers as almost a second father had a great bit of enticement to it.

Sehr spannendes Buch über eine außergewöhnliche Persönlichkeit, mit der man auch sympathisiert, wenn man sich nicht für Basketball interessiert. Inspirierend, aber nicht abgehoben. Empfehlung!
